"You give the best hugs and cook the best macaroni and cheese. Thanks for a house and a bed, Dad," said Chase.
"My favorite thing about you, Dad, you are funny. My dad and I like to go to the beach," said David.
"My dad and I like to play Legos together," Taylor said.
"You are cool and nice. Thanks for always being funny," said Sydney.
And Mark said his dad makes the best ribs.
All these compliments came from first and second graders at a Father's Day celebration at Pleasant Valley Elementary School called "Doughnuts for Dads."
Each student in Miss Kern's first grade and Mrs. Hauze's second grade invited their dads to this special event. They each read aloud the things they love most about their dads. Then they sang songs like "I Love Daddy," "Happy Father's Day to You" and D-A-D-D-Y and Daddy is his name-o."
Each child served his/her dad a doughnut and a cup of punch.
It was hard to tell who was more proud, the dads of their children, or the children of their dads, in this mutual admiration society.
