ID theft incident; bad check case

State police at Lehighton are investigating identity theft incidents and a bad check case.

George R. Glick, 61, of 32 Blue Mountain Village, in Saylorsburg, Ross Township, Monroe County, reported he filled out a loan application which required collateral payment. The information was secured on the Internet and had Glick contacting a person by telephone in Canada. Glick sent two checks to the suspect in Canada but never received the loan amount of $10,000. Glick sent a total of $1,769.72 to the suspect. The incident occurred over the period of June 1-4.Denise Frable, 54, of 510 Hahns Dairy Rd., Palmerton, Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County, reported she had $150 stolen from her PNC bank account. The incident was reported at 3 p.m. on Friday, June 11.Troopers are investigating a bad check incident. Terry Uhnak, 60, of Walnutport, reported he received a check from Kan-Do Homes LLC, of Lower Towamensing Township, on May 11, for services rendered. Uhnak was not able to cash the check due to lack of sufficient funding, troopers said. The investigation into the incident is continuing, troopers added.
