Pocono police report DUI arrests

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on several driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by officers.

On May 21 about 10:45 a.m. officers were called to Hoffman's Mini Mart in Pocono Summit to a report of a intoxicated male inside the store. Upon arrival officers made contact with a male, later identified as Nicholas Wilson, 28, of Tunkhannock. It was determined that Wilson drove his vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance while having his five-year-old son in the car with him.He was placed under arrest for DUI of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child. He was transported for a blood test and later arraigned before a district judge. He was also cited for public drunkenness.On Monday, May 24, about 12:39 a.m. officers were on patrol along SR193 and observed a vehicle northbound with an equipment violation. A vehicle stop was made and the driver identified as Peter Febbraro, 35, of Mt. Pcoono. He was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He was then taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results.Also on Monday police received a report of two vehicles racing on SR940 westbound through Pocono Lake and Blakeslee. Officers observed the vehicles at the intersection of 940 and SR115. The vehicles were swerving within the northbound lane of 115.Police conducted a traffic stop on both vehicles on 115 at Poplar Lane for vehicle code violations.The drivers' were identified as Robert Wells, 41, of Pocono Pines, and Ronald Stack, 37, of Holland, Bucks County. Both were found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests.The two were transported to PMC for blood tests. The DUI charges against both are pending the test results.On Tuesday, May 25, about 12:06 a.m. officers stopped a vehicle along SR115, south of Interstate 80, for vehicle code violations. The driver was identified as Crystal Marie Rodino, 24, of Birdsboro, Berks County. She was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety testes. She was transported to the state police barracks at Fern Ridge for a breath test. Charges were filed for DUI, police said.Three arrests were made on Wednesday, May 26.Police stopped a vehicle along SR196 near SR611 in Mt. Pocono for faulty lighting. The driver was identified as Rufino Cruz Hernandez, 39, of Pocono Summit. He was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He was then taken to PMC for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results.At 3:10 a.m. a vehicle stop was made along SR940 and Stillwater Drive, in Pocono Summit, for an equipment violation. The driver was identified as Timothy David Owens, 46, of Pocono Summit. He was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He was taken to PMC for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results.About 8:52 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop of a silver in color Honda in the parking lot of Joe's Kwik Mart along SR940, in Pocono Summit. The Honda was a suspected vehicle in a harassment complaint.The driver was identified as Kyle James, 19, of Pocono Lake. While speaking to James concerning the harassment complaint officers detected the odor of an acoholic beverage on his breath. He failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. He was transported to the PMC for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results.
