Guilty pleas in pending criminal charges were entered by 12 defendants on Thursday in Carbon County court.

Senior Judge Richard W. Webb accepted the pleas from the following.

Terry Wayne Peters, 40, of Kunkletown, pleaded guilty to one count each of driving under the influence (DUI) and driving under suspension-DUI related. He was arrested on Feb. 14 along Delware Avenue in Palmerton by state police at Lehighton. Given a test, the result was .17BAC.

On the DUI charge Webb sentenced him to serve 10 days to one year in jail, a fine of $500, ordered to get a drug and alcohol (D&A) evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment and license suspended for a year.

On the driving under suspension charge he was sentenced to serve 90 days in jail, consecutive to the DUI charge, and pay a fine of $1,000 and another year suspension.

Peters was recently sentenced in Monroe County for another DUI count to serve 11 1/2 to 23 months in prison. The Carbon and Monroe terms will run concurrent. Peters began the jail term at 4 p.m. Thursday and was granted work release privileges.

Donald Frederick Jones, 51, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count of DUI. He was arrested on March 6 along SR248 in Palmerton by state police at Lehighton. Given a test, the result was .22BAC.

Webb sentenced him to serve five days to six months in jail, a fine of $300, get a D&A evaluation, render 22 hours of community service and license suspended for a year. The jail term begins at 9 a.m. on July 26.

Anthony William Hill, 21, of Lansford, pleaded to one count each of DUI of a controlled substance and possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was arrested on May 1 along SR209 in Jim Thorpe by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed the presence of marijuana in his system.

On the DUI charge Webb sentenced him to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000, get a D&A evaluation, and one year license suspension. On the possession count he was placed on probation for 30 days concurrent with the DUI count. He was given credit for four days spent in jail on the charges and was immediately paroled.

Betsy Rae Mankos, 53, of Neffs, pleaded to one count of DUI. She was arrested on March 17 along Delaware Avenue in Palmerton by borough police. Given a test, the result was .17BAC.

A first time offender, she was placed on probation for six months and ordered to pay a fine of $300 and get a D&A evaluation.

David Joseph Frantz Jr., 27, of Kunkletown R.3, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on Sept. 19, 2009, along Church Rd., in Towamensing Township, by state police at Lehighton.

Webb placed him on probation for a year and imposed zero tolerance on drug or alochol use.

Anthony Julio Riggio, 26, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of DUI. He was arrested on Jan. 1 along Hahns Dairy Road, in Lower Towamensing Township, by state police at Lehighton. Given a test, the result was .15BAC.

Webb placed him on probation for six months and ordered he pay a fine of $300, get a D&A evaluation and render three hours of community service per month while on probation.

Michael Strohl, 25, of Weissport, pleaded to one count of DUI. He was arrested on Aug. 30, 2008, along N. First St., Lehighton. Given a test, the result was .09BAC.

Webb placed him on probation for six months and ordered he pay a fine of $300 and get a D&A evaluation. It was noted Strohl has another pending DUI charge.

Eric Matthew Williams, 38, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on Aug. 24, 2009, along SR248 by state police at Lehighton.

Webb placed him on probation for a year.

John Ermlick Jr., 25, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count each of possession of a controlled substance-marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of open container law. He was arrested on May 29 along Alley E and Third St., in Palmerton.

Webb placed him on probation for a year on the two possession counts, running concurrently, and ordered he get a D&A evaluation and imposed zero tolerance on drug or alcohol use. On the ordinance violation he was fined $100.

Michael Taschler Jr., 24, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of criminal mischief, as a summary offense. He was arrested on May 24, 2009, by Lehighton police for an incident at the residence of his father, Michael Taschler Sr.

Webb imposed a fine of $100 and resitution of $500.

Gustavo Rosario Jr., 25, of Allentown, pleaded to one count of DUI. He was arrested on Dec. 15, 2009, along Main Rd., in Franklin Township, by township police. Given a test, the result was .23BAC.

Webb placed him on probation for six months and ordered he pay a fine of $300 and get a D&A evaluation.

Charles Ray Lockard, 18, of Kunkletown, pleaded to one count of theft. He was arrested on Oct. 9, 2009, by state police at Fern Ridge for an incident in the Indian Mountain Lake development in Penn Forest Township involving Elizabeth Tucci as the listed victim.

Webb placed him on probation for a year and ordered he make restitution of $600 and have no contact with a co-defendant.

All defendants must pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
