A series of neighborhood meetings by Lehighton Borough Council will begin Thursday.
The informal gathering will be held at 7 p.m. at Skyline Park on North Third Street.
Dale Traupman, a member of Lehighton Council who came up with the concept of the neighborhood meetings, said four such gatherings are scheduled.
The list of meetings is:
Ÿ Thursday, July 15 - Skyline Park.
Ÿ Tuesday, July 20 - Along Stedman Avenue.
Ÿ Wednesday, Aug. 4 - Ball field at Sixth and Coal St.
Ÿ Tuesday, Aug. 10 - Community Grove at Eighth and Iron St.
The meetings are scheduled to allow residents in the community to let council members feel about situations in their community, both positive and negative.
Traupman said the meetings "are not to debate, not to argue, just to listen."
The sessions will be in an "open concept." Suggestions made and topics discussed may be brought back to the regular council meetings for further action.
"It's an opportunity to get out and get more public input," Traupman said.
