Nesquehoning police reported on several crashes investigated by officers in recent days.

On July 6 Chief Sean Smith was dispatched to a crash at SR209 and Oak St. Smith learned that Emily Benscome, 960 Carbon St., Nesquehoning, was traveling north on 209 when a vehicle in front of her began to brake to turn left. Brenden McArble, 190 Coal St., Nesquehoning, was also northbound and struck the rear of Benscome's vehicle. No one was injured and both vehicles were driven from the scene. Jim Thorpe Officer Lee Marzen assisted Smith at the scene.On July 8 Officer Tim Wuttke was dispatched to a crash at the Dollar General Store along SR209, in the parking lot. Geri Kramer, 246 W. High St., Nesquehoinng, was backing out of a parking space and backed into the parked car of Patricia Vitiello, of 17 E. Second St., Jim Thorpe. Damages were minor to both vehicles and no one was injured.On July 10 Smith was called to a accident at Almond Street and SR209. Amanda Kirk, 222 Cold Spring Rd., Jim Thorpe, was northbound when a vehicle was turning in front of her. She began to slow down when her vehicle was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by Jacob Miller, no address given.Kirk's daughter, Kristine Kirk was taken by Nesquehoning ambulance to St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale, for treatment of a minor injury, police said. No one else was reported injured. Miller's car had to be towed from the scene.
