Denise Gail Chickilly, daughter of Robert and Gail Chickilly of Nesquehoning, became the bride of Shawn Joseph Kennedy, son of Sandra Kennedy of Nesquehoning and the late Edward Kennedy Sr., on May 22, 2010 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Nesquehoning. The Rev. Anthony Drouncheck at officiated the double ring ceremony. Robert Ames was the organist and Nathan Halenar was the vocalist.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose her sister, Amy Beth Chickilly of Nesquehoning, as the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Nikki Kennedy of Nesquehoning, Taylor Kennedy of Jim Thorpe and Alexandra Kennedy of Nesquehoning.Joseph Burns of Somers Point, N.J., served as the best man. Ushers were Edward Kennedy Jr., John F. Kennedy, Hunter Kennedy and Tanner Kennedy, all of Nesquehoning.Following the ceremony, the couple welcomed friends and family to a reception at Jim Thorpe Memorial Hall. They then honeymooned at Sandal's Dunn's River, Jamaica.A pre-nuptial party was given by Albert Channel and Coleen Kennedy at La Dolce Casa in Tamaqua.The new Mrs. Kennedy is currently working on completing her bachelor's degree in business administration at Misericordia University.She is employed as the administration assistant in the Public Relations and Funding Development department at Blue Mountain Health System.Mr. Kennedy is a 1989 graduate of Panther Valley High School and is currently employed as the plant supervisor at Crystaline Bus and Rail Inc.The newlyweds reside in Nesquehoning.
