Raiders' Zehner tops 1,000

Tamaqua's Amy Zehner topped the 1,000 career point mark in a victory over Minersville on Thursday.

GIRLS BASKETBALLMinersville-TamaquaWith 5:45 remaining in the second quarter, Zehner scored her 1,000th career point on a drive and lay-up, propelling Tamaqua to a 68-48 victory non-league triumph over visiting Minersville.Zehner went on to score a career-high 34 points on the night. She is now ninth on Tamaqua's all-time scoring list and the third to hit the 1,000 point plateau as a junior.
