The members of the New Columbus Fire Company spent more than $26,000 for the new unit of the Hurst made Jaws of Life for their fire truck. The ladies auxiliary helped raise funds for the jaws which replaces the old jaws of life.

The original jaws were a gift from KME when the fire company purchased the truck back in 1992. The old unit is still in service but with the stronger metals used in today's vehicles, the fire company had to upgrade their tools.

They purchased a new cutter, spreader, hoses, and power unity. Such a purchase would not be possible without the support of the ladies auxiliary, the people of Nesquehoning and surrounding communities, and the Nesquehoning Borough. The New Columbus Fire Company would like to thank everyone for their continued support.
