Rush Township unveils new map room

Rush Township officials in Hometown recently unveiled their new map room, located in the Rush Township Municipal building. Township employees and officials wanted to better preserve old maps and documents and decided to convert a room in the building to a map and documents preservation and storage room. Rush Supervisors, along with staff and volunteers, have been working on organizing and cataloging all the township's maps, drawings and plans. The project, which involved going through records from the past 20 years, will enable easier acess. Township Chairman Steve Simchak and Supervisor Robert Leibensperger spearheaded the project. People can stop by and look at the maps and documents anytime during regular business hours.
