School board reorganizes

An incumbent has been reappointed to lead Northern Lehigh School Board, while another incumbent has taken over as vice president.

As part of its reorganizational meeting on Monday, Director Edward Hartman was appointed by the board to serve another term as president, and Director Gary Fedorcha was named vice president.Hartman was nominated for the post by Director Donna Kulp. Director Mathias Green then nominated Fedorcha, who declined the presidency.Hartman was appointed to the post on a 7-1 vote, with directors Lauren Ganser, Raymond Follweiler, Gregory Williams, Natalie Green, Kulp, Fedorcha and Hartman in favor, and Mathias Green opposed.Natalie Green then nominated Fedorcha as Vice President, which was approved by a 7-1 margin. Follweiler, Williams, Natalie Green, Mathias Green, Kulp, Hartman and Fedorcha were in favor, with Ganser opposed.Director Lori Geronikos was absent.Hartman thanked the board for his appointment."Thank you for the privilege of serving as president," Hartman said. "We may have a difficult year ahead, especially with financial difficulties."Hartman then urged the board to work together for the best interests of the district."It's time for the board to come together and start working together," he said. "We've got to be a board that is consistent, and a board that makes decisions for the community."The board will continue to meet at 7:30 p.m. the second Monday of the month.
