Temple Israel of Lehighton, 194 Bankway Street invites everyone to commemorate the miracles of Hanukkah and enjoy a pot luck dairy/vegetarian dinner which features latkes of all types as the main course at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3.

Sufganiyot (jelly doughnuts) is the showcase dessert at Oneg Shabbat following services

On Friday evening, the service begins at 7:15 p.m., lead by Rabbi Melody Davis. There will be lively music, drumming, drama and dancing.

Come hear the story of the miracles, sing the songs and play the dreidel games. Bring your Hanukkah menorah, candles and lucky dreidel. The chanukiyot will be lit as a community. The Torah reading will be done in an interlinear fashion: one verse in Hebrew, followed by the same verse chanted in English. Find out what the Torah has to say to you. This participatory congregational experience is accessible to folks across the spectrum of Hebrew knowledge.
