Volunteers of the Tamaqua Area Animal Rescue (TAAR) and employees and patrons of the Clamtown Tavern held a car show and block party recently to raise funds and awareness for the TAAR inside and outside the Clamtown Tavern. The event, consisting of bull riding, a car show, auto burnout contest, auto neon contest, and sound system contest, was sponsored by the Clamtown Tavern.

Volunteers with the Tamaqua Area Animal Rescue also had their tent set up passing out literature and raising awareness. TAAR secretary and event organizer Fallyn Brachman thanked all the volunteers, supporters, Diane at Cats Peak Rescue, Kelly from Mahoning Valley, and to Diane of SCART for their help with Tomcat, and the main sponsor of this event, Clamtown Tavern.

The mission of the TAAR is to provide care and sanctuary for the lost, abandoned, abused and neglected animals of Tamaqua an surrounding areas. She also pointed out that the Tamaqua Area Animal Rescue is always looking for donations and volunteers.
