Lehighton Area School District will hold kindergarten orientation and building tours for any new students entering grades one through four. Parents and students are urged to attend these informal meetings, where members of the staff will discuss the kindergarten program, scheduling for the upcoming year, (day schedule) and available services within the district.

For students entering East Penn Elementary School, orientation will be held for new students at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18. For students in Mrs. Betz's classroom, 6 p.m.; and Miss Wassmer at 6:30 p.m.New students to Franklin Elementary School will have orientation at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19. Students is Mrs. Hlavaty's class will have orientation at 6 p.m.; Mrs. Smith's class at 6:30 p.m.; and Mrs. Zimmerman's class at 7 p.m.At Mahoning Elementary School, new students will have orientation at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17. For Mrs. Geiser's class, orientation will be at 6 p.m.; and Mrs. Kocher's class will be at 6:30 p.m.New students at Shull-David Elementary School will have orientation at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19. Mrs. Maloney's class is at 6 p.m., Mrs. Wentz's class is 6:30 p.m. and Mrs. Haydt's class at 7:30 p.m.During orientation monthly calendars will be distributed to parents.The first day for elementary school students will be Aug. 25.
