Students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade attending Catholic schools competed in the annual District 5 CYO Arts and Craft Competition. Winners were recognized at the competition held at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School, Lehighton. Schools competing were Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School, Lehighton; St. John Neumann Regional Academy; St. Jerome Regional School, Tamaqua; and Our Lady of the Angels Academy, Lansford.

The CYO director is Phil Liszka.

More than 195 entries were judged. Judging for winners was based on originality, design and execution.

Winners of the Craft division were: kindergarten, Samantha R. Steier, first; Madison Mahler, second and Blake Edgar, third, all at St. John Neuman School, Palmerton; first and second grade, Caittene Santos, first, St. John; Jason Bauder, second, Ss. Peter and Paul; and Gina Piccione, third, St. John; third and fourth grade, Justin Speier, first, St. John; Maxwell Vermillion, second, Our Lady of the Angels Academy: and Juliana Fenstermaker, third, St. John; fifth and sixth grade, Barry Fulton, first, OLOAA; Henry Hinchey, second, St. John; and Barry J. Fulton, third, OLOAA; and seventh and eighth, Katelyn Hosler, first, Ss. Peter and Paul; Taylor Arnold, second, OLOAA; and Kyle Higgins, third, Ss. Peter and Paul.

Art Division winners were: kindergarten, Kayle Steward, first, Ss. Peter and Paul; and Sadie Trubilla, second and Sierra Bauer, third, both of OLOAA: first and second grade, Gina Piccione, first, St. John Neumann; and Victoria Barthold, second; and Hannah Christman, third, both of Ss. Peter and Paul; third and fourth grade, Isabella Blasko, first, OLOAA; Juliana Fenstermaker, second, St. John; and Jakub Kantyla, third, OLOAA; fifth and sixth grade, Samantha McCartney, first. OLOAA: and Danielle Spillman, second; and Brendan Carroll, third, both of St. Joseph; and seventh and eighth grade, Madyson Dyer, first, OLOAA: Kristina Gonzolez, second, St. John; and Annette Ritzko, third, St. Jerome.

Group project winners were Paxton Klotz and Alex Vulusek of OLOAA.
