Eleven area residents accepted Schuylkill County District Attorney James P. Goodman's offer to be placed in the Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition (ARD) probation program, for first offenders to allow them to work off the criminal charges filed against them to clear their name. Judge John E. Domalakes, at a hearing held Thursday, admitted them all for a year with conditions as follows:

Terry L. Bachert, 55, of 515 Arlington St., Tamaqua, on a driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, was assessed $500 to defray the cost of the program, pay $300 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA), attend the alcohol highway safe driving school, receive outpatient counseling, perform 10 hours of community service and his driver's license is suspended 60 days. Bachert was cited by Patrolman Thomas Rodgers, Tamaqua police, last Sept. 26.

Nicole F. Bailey, 33, of 52 Swamp Road, Tamaqua, on a DUI charge was assessed $500, $100 fee to SAE, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, attend alcohol highway safe driving school, perform 10 hours community service and driver's license is suspended 30 days. Bailey was cited by Patrolman Danielle Mowery, West Penn Township police, last Sept. 28. On a charge of failing to have a driver's license was fined $200 plus $50 costs.

William J. Bowman, 22, of 221 Owl Creek Road, Tamaqua, on a DUI charge must pay a $500 assessment fee, $100 SAE fund, $50 CJEA, attend alcohol highwaty safety school, perform 10 hours community service and driver's license suspended 60 days. Bowman was cited by Patrolman Thomas Rodgers, Tamaqua police, last Dec. 16.

Christine Laurie Bugdanavage, 39, of 123 Schuylkill Ave., Tamaqua, on a DUI charge was assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, attend alcohol highway safe driving school, perform 10 hours community service and driver's license is suspended 30 days. Bugdanavage was cited by Patrolman Robert Minnick, Rush Township police, last Sept. 16. On a charge of failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic was fined $25 plus $50 costs.

Shawn E. Flaim Jr., 19, of 500 Pine St., Tamaqua, on charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia was placed on probation 12 months, pay a $350 assessment, $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional lab and pay costs of prosecution. Flaim was cited by Patrolman Brian Thompson, Rush Township police, last Oct. 28 when stopped in Barnesville.

John Victor Futoma, 23, of 325 Greenhouse Lane, Zion Grove, on a DUI charge was assessed $500, pay $100 fee to SAE, $50 to CJEA, attend alcohol highway safe driving school, perform 10 hours community service and driver's license is suspended 60 days. Futoma was cited by Trooper Michael Breznik last Dec. 5 in Girardville. On a charge of careless driving was fined $25 plus $50 costs.

Jonathan W.R. McCoy, 248 Mauch Chunk St., Tamaqua, on charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia must pay a $350 assessment, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA and make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. McCoy was cited by Patrolman Jonathan McHugh, Rush Township police, last Sept. 5. On a charge of failing to drive on right side of road was fined $25 plus $50 court costs.

Jacob Potter, 19, Mahanoy City, on a charge of retail theft from Walmart Store in Saint Clair must pay a $350 assessment, pay $50 to CJEA and make restitution of $580.88 to the store.

Charles E. Tidabock, 31 Fort Franklin, Andreas, on a DUI charge was assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, make restitution of $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, perform 10 hours community service, attend alcohol highway safe driving school and driver's license suspended 60 days. Tidabock was cited by Patrolman Jason Lorah, West Penn Township police, last July 7. On a charge of following another vehicle to closely and colliding with the rear of the car was fined $25 plus $50 costs.

Richard M. Vitek, 46, of 516 E. Blaine St., McAdoo, on a DUI charge was assessed $500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, attend alcohol highway safe driving school, receive outpatient counseling, perform 10 hours community service and driver's license is suspended 60 days. Vitek was cited by Patrolman Robert Minnick, McAdoo police, last Jan. 3.

David A. Shadler, 24, of 22 Patriotic Hill Road, Mahanoy City, on a charge of disorderly conduct was fined $50.

All defendants must pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
