The parents of Amy Zubek of Summit Hill and Bob Miller of Nesquehoning announce the couple's engagement. They became engaged last September on the beach in Ocean City, Md.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Joseph and Mary Zubek of Summit Hill. She is a graduate of Panther Valley High School and Lebanon Valley College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in English communications, with a second major in digital communications.

She is currently employed as a reporter at the TIMES NEWS; and as a car host and ticket agent at Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway in Jim Thorpe.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Robert and Bonnie Miller of Tamaqua. He is a graduate of Tamaqua Area High School and Pennsylvania College of Technology, where he earned an associate of applied science degree in graphic communications technology.

He is currently employed as the director of prepress operations at the TIMES NEWS, and serves as a member of the Carbon County Planning Commission.

The couple also co-owns and operates Zubek-Miller Photography in Nesquehoning.

An Aug. 21, 2010 wedding is being planned.
