Coaldale woman killed

A Coaldale woman was killed when a pickup truck pulled into her path yesterday in Ryan Township, Schuylklll County.

Township police Chief Rich Sinton said Patricia A. Vidzicki, 41, of 8 E. High St., was fatally injured in the crash.According to Sinton the crash occurred about 4:32 p.m. along SR54 at Hillside Drive. Police said a Dodge Dakota pickup truck, operated by Alberta Davis, 77, of Lost Creek, Shenandoah, was stopped on Hillside and pulled out into the path of Vidzicki, who was operating a Kawasaki Vulcan bike eastbound at the time.Vidzicki was transported to St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale, where she was pronounced dead. Davis was not injured, police added.The road was shut down from the time of the accident until about 10:30 p.m. while Sinton investigated. Sinton said he was assisted by police from Rush and Mahanoy townships, a state police accident reconstruction unit, Ryan Township fire, fire police and EMS units, Hometown Fire Company and fire police, Delano Fire Company and fire police, Quakake and Mahanoy City fire police.Fire police personnel assisted in shutting down the road during the investigation.Sinton said his investigation is continuing.
