Schuylkill wood working shop destroyed

A devastating fire destroyed a wood working shop in center Schuylkill County. The blaze at the Pleasant Valley Chair along route 443 started just before 11 a.m. Tuesday. By the time firefighters from throughout Schuylkill county arrived on scene the sprawling structure was fully involved in flames. One worker at the site said the building was leveled in just 20 minutes. The operation, owned and operated by a Mennonite family, logged, milled the lumber and manufactured furniture at the site. Because of the remote location of the scene water had to be tanked into the site. No injuries were reported in the incident. A state police fire marshal was requested at the scene to determine the cause of the fire. Owners and workers of the Pleasant Valley Chair just sat and watched as fire consumed their operation.
