Ranger Rick Club will hold a monthly meeting from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Carbon County Environmental Education Center, 151 E. White Bear Drive, Summit Hill. Meetings are open to children in grades k through six.
The club meets once a month throughout the school year, with each meeting focusing on some aspect of the natural world. The topic for October's meeting is "Wild Edibles." Through a hike and other activities, children will learn about the kinds of plants animals and people depend on for food.
The program is free to CCEEC members and a $5 per child donation id requested from non members.
CCEEC is located at the west end of Mauch Chunk Lake Park, just outside Jim Thorpe, along the Lentz Trail highway.
