Tamaqua, Panther Valley and Weatherly all recorded volleyball victories to highlight Tuesday scholastic sports schedule.

VOLLEYBALLHalifax-TamaquaTamaqua came out on top with a 21-25, 25-22, 25-20, 23-25, 15-8 roller-coaster victory over visiting Halifax.Stacy Wallace paced the Blue Raiders (3-2 overall) with 10 service points, nine kills, four aces and three blocks. Tiffany Billman added four service points, seven kills, two aces and two blocks.Sarah Paluck chipped in with 12 service points and six kills for the victors.Mt. Carmel-Panther Vy.Panther Valley improved to 4-1 on the season with its sweep over Mt. Carmel, 25-7, 25-7, 25-20.The Panthers' Celene Yelito helped out with eight assists in the match. Teammate Chrissy Micholik added four kills. Steph Kachelries had two kills, two service points and one ace while Sarah Branchide recorded two service points.Mahanoy Area-WeatherlyWeatherly got the best of Mahanoy Area with a 25-15, 25-10, 25-14 Schuylkill League win.Brittney Hinkle paced the Wreckers with 12 digs and 10 kills, while Sarah Dolinsky added 15 digs, eight kills and four aces.The Wreckers' Rachel Heister finished with 10 assists, five digs, three aces as well as recording 14 straight service points in the third match. Teammate Samantha Strizak ended up with 20 digs.Weatherly moves to 2-6 overall and 1-4 in the league.BOYS SOCCERPine Grove-TamaquaTamaqua suffered a 5-1 Schuylkill League defeat at the hands of Pine Grove.Cody Estremera had the Raiders only goal of the game. He was set-up by Davide DeFiore.Pine Grove was led by Carlos Marron and his two goals.Jim Thorpe-Upper DauphinPatrick Walker scored two goals to lead Upper Dauphin to a 5-1 Schuylkill League win over Jim Thorpe.Tyler Payne, Zachary Lesher and Matthew Rezeck also scored for the winners.The Olympians' goal came from John Mazzella, while JT keeper Justin Kamisnki made 14 saves.FIELD HOCKEYSaucon Valley-No. LehighSaucon Valley beat Colonial League foe Northern Lehigh in overtime, 2-1.The Lady Panthers won on a corner scuffle in front of the cage three minutes into the sudden death OT and Sarah Seneca knocked in the game winner.The Bulldogs' Talyor Farber scored with one minute remaining in regulation off a corner shot from Danielle Dooley.So. Lehigh-NorthwesternSouthern Lehigh knocked off Northwestern in its Colonial League field hockey game, 3-1.Rylee Maron, Rebecca Lukaszczyk and Brielle Mackey each had a goal for the Lady Spartans (9-0).The Lady Tigers' only goal was scored by Jenn Groller in the first half.
