A Halloween Spooktacular party will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28 at the Lehighton Recreation Center, Eighth Street, Lehighton. Children up to age 12 attending classes in Lehighton Area School District are invited. Candy, treats, fun and games, are all on the agenda. Children can enter the costume contest or walk through the the spooktacular haunted house. Prizes will be awarded.

The party is presented as a safe alternative to "Trick or Treat" night. All children must be accompanied by an adult.The party is being sponsored by Lehighton Area Lioness Lions Club.There is no cost to participate in the event but the Club is asking for a donation of a canned good item, pet food item or an old hearing aid or pair of eyeglasses.Advance registration is required by 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26.
