Dear Editor:

For well over 100 days we have waited for the State Legislature to pass a budget. Now these "parasites" whom we elected not only expect to be paid for this time but a majority have submitted bills for per diem during this period, including our illustrious Speaker of the House.Some of these bills are as high as $7,000. Talk about gall!We are a state that prided itself on taking care of its elderly. Yet while this budget crisis is going on... and on....Meals on Wheels is being cut. Nursing facilities are suffering. Counties have laid off workers or slashed employee hours.And meanwhile our state lawmakers have chosen to line their own pockets for a mess they created.And these "blood suckers" sit on both sides of the aisle!Richard Carrigan,Jim Thorpe
