Carbon fire company cited

A Carbon County fire company was cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board. It was one of three area establishments cited.

Tresckow Fire Company No. 1, located at the southeast corner of Oak and Walnut streets, in Banks Township, was cited for sold, furnished and/or gave or permitted such sale, furnishing or giving of alcoholic beverages to a minor.Two Monroe County businesses were also cited.Tabs Tavern and Inn, located along Sterling Road (SR196), in Coolbaugh Township, was cited for issuing checks or drafts dated Aug. 7 and 10, in payment for purchases of malt or brewed beverages, when there was insufficient funds in, or credit with, the institution upon which drawn for the payment of such checks.Creekside Inn, 406 SR92N, in Tunkhannock Township, was cited for clean indoor act violation for permitting in a public place where smoking is prohibited on Aug. 19.These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50-$1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge brought.
