A young driver is facing charges following a one vehicle crash at occurred about 6:34 p.m. on Sept. 23 along Second Mountain Road at Garfield Avenue, in North Manheim Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said a 14-year-old male from Pottsville was driving a 20001 TRX Honda 250EX all terrain vehicle (ATV) at a high rate of speed westbound when he failed to negotiate a right curve in the road. The vehicle went onto the berm and struck a stone bridge abutment. After impact the teen and his 12-year-old male passenger, also from Pottsville, were thrown from the ATV.Both teens were injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center South, Pottsville. Numerous citations will be filed against the 14-year-old, troopers said.
