Pumpkin throwing incidents probed

Two pumpkin throwing and other acts of criminal mischief incidents in which damage was done was probed at the same general area in Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said unknown persons threw pumpkins at the Family Door store located at 30 Foreset Drive, Hegins Township, damaging two large front store windows. The incident occurred sometime between 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2, and 9:15 a.m. on Saturday.The second incident occurred at the residence of Kevin Fetterolf, 510 W. Maple St., Hegins Township. Someone threw pumpkins at his 2001 Volkswagen Jetta parked at the residence causing damages to the rear of the vehicle. The incident occurred sometime between 11 p.m. Saturday and 7:30 a.m. on Sunday.Ruth Miller, 89, of 490 W. Mountain Rd., in Hegins Township, reported someone arrived in a vehicle and threw a mailbox against several of the victim's double pane windows and shattered the windows.William Wagner, 77, of 67 W. Mountain Rd., reported someone threw a mailbox at his front double pane living room window and shattered it. Both incidents occurred around 4:05 and 4:15 a.m. on Sunday.James Buffington, 60, of 1006 Creek Rd., in Sacramento, Hegins Township, reported pumpkins thrown at his double pane bedroom window which was shattered. The incident also occurred about 4:05-4:15 a.m. on Sunday.
