The Carbon County Department of Solid Waste announces the results of the recent electronics recycling collection event in Lehighton.

Due to the combined efforts of the county, Lehighton, and AAA Recycling Management LLC, the two-day event, held Sept. 28 and 29, brought in over 23 tons of electronics to be recycled.The items collected, which ranged from printers and computer equipment to televisions, telephones and radios, weighed a combined total of 46,454 pounds or 23.22 tons.Since the first collection event in 2005, Carbon County has recycled over 182,200 pounds or 91.10 tons of electronic items.
