A two-vehicle hit-and-run accident that happened at 8:44 p.m. Nov. 21 on the on-ramp of Route 248 at Delaware Avenue in Palmerton is being investigated by state police at the Lehighton barracks.

Police said a vehicle driven by Trisha Weaver, 22, of Walnutport, was entering Rt. 248 heading east from the Palmerton on-ramp when a vehicle in front of her 2008 Ford Focus applied its brakes, causing the Focus to strike the rear of the other vehicle. It fled the scene and is described as being a white Dodge Stratus or VCO.Police said neither Weaver or a passenger, Dion S. Smith Jr., 22, of Palmerton, were injured.
