Playing to a packed house, students from the 5th thru 8th grades at the Penn Kidder Campus of the JASD showcased their talents during the 1st Annual "Penn Kidder Has Talent" show which was held at the school on Friday evening.

The show, which was organized by Assistant Principal Randy Engle, benefitted the Penn Kidder PTA which uses the funds raised for programs and events that will benefit the students at the school.

According to PTA President Kathy Saxon, there was a lot of support from the faculty and staff in helping to screen the acts and help them rehearse and prepare for the show.

They also managed the staging, lighting and sound systems for the talent show and PTA members helped out by working the food and refreshment stand and distributing programs.

The MC for the show was Mr. Chlubicki, and the lighting was managed by Shawn Kopt with Kellee Jo Kleintop helping with the sound.

Mary Ann Lugiano, Stacey Gula, and Jen Strauss helped screen the acts.

Of the students who tried out for the show, 24 were chosen to perform in it with acts ranging from singing and dancing to guitar playing and even a Karate exhibition.

The show concluded with a performance by this year's winner of Jim Thorpe Idol, Hailey Hoherchak who performed the song "Love Gets Me Every Time".

Penn Kidder Has Talent drew an audience estimated to be at least 300 strong, all of whom clearly appreciated the talent of the performing students.
