Brenda Wertman weds Barton Fritzinger Jr.

Brenda Wertman, daughter of Shirley Wertman and the late James Wertman, Tamaqua, married Barton Fritzinger Jr., son of Barton and Patricia Fritzinger, Lehighton, in a double ring ceremony July 24, 2009 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tamaqua. The Rev. Debra K. Ernst officiated. Sandra Mehalko was the organist, while Joseph Mehalko was the soloist.

Given in marriage by her brother, James Wertman, Tamaqua, the bride chose Pamela Keller, Jim Thorpe, as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Cynthia Smulligan, Herndon, Pa., and Sandra Moyer, Naverre, Fla. Ashley Miller, Palmerton, was a junior bridesmaid. Isabella Moyer, Naverre, was the flower girl.The bridegroom chose James Wertman as best man. Ushers were David Bonaskiewich, Allentown, and Thomas Gower, Lehighton. Zachary Moyer, Naverre, was a junior usher. Avery Miller, Palmerton, was the ring bearer.Following a reception at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Hall, the couple honeymooned in Niagara Falls, Canada.The new Mrs. Fritzinger is a 1983 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School and a 1994 graduate of Kutztown University, where she earned a bachelor of science in elementary and early childhood education. She is employed as a teacher at BHA Academy in Lehighton.Mr. Fritzinger is a 1979 graduate of Lehighton Area High School and completed the clown course at LCCC. He is employed at Giant Food Store, Lehighton; and is self-employed as "Buster the Clown."The newlyweds reside in Tamaqua.
