Monroe driver facing charges

A Monroe Countydriver is facing charges, including driving under the influence following an incident that occurred on May 2.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said at 12:38 a.m. they responded to the area of Hunter Drive and Squirrel Circle, in Tobyhanna, for a report of a suspicious vehicle in the front yard of the residence. On scene officers found a pickup still running in the middle of the yard stuck on some logs.The driver was found passed out inside the vehicle. He was identified as James W. Battisto, 51, of 2803 Oakview Lane, Tobyhanna. He was awakened by officers and showed signs of intoxication. He was arrested and transported to the county DUI center where he submitted to a blood test. The test result showed he was three times over the legal limit of 0.08 percent, police said.As a result, police charged Battisto with two counts of DUI, and one count each of driving while under suspension-DUI related, driving while under suspension-DUI related above 0.02 percent, careless driving, and accidents involving damage to unattendedproperty.
