A gun was taken in a Schuylkill County burglary.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said a home along Second Street in the village of Joliett, Porter Township, was entered sometime between Dec. 7, 2011, and March 18. Removed was a Jennings .25-caliber nickel-plated pistol and two additional clips.

The listed victims are Rhonda Ibrahem, 54, and Ronald Kramer, 43, both of Joliett.

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a two vehicle crash about 11:20 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27, along SR61 at Beacon St., in Palo Alto, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said Victoria Zanoline, 19, of Fern Glen, was driving a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am eastbound on Bacon St. and stopped for a stop sign at SR61.

Troopers said Zanoline then attempted to turn left to go south on 61 and pulled directly into the path of a northbound 2000 Saturn SL operated by Lauranne Wingard, 48, of Pottsville.

A driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a crash in Carbon County. State police at Lehighton said the accident occurred about 2:07 a.m. on March 18 along 57 Road at Christman Rd., in Towamensing Township.

Troopers responded to the location and observed a vehicle attempting to leave the scene. A stop was made and the driver identified as Timothy W. Shultz, 37, of Kunkletown.

State police at Frackville are investigating a burglary at an abandoned property in Schuylkill County.

Troopers said a home in the 100 block of Lower Road, in Mahanoy Township, was entered and removed was aluminum base electric heating units. The incident occurred sometime between March 3 and 27, troopers said.

The property is owned by Diane Felegie, 34, of Mahanoy City.

A state police cruiser was involved in a crash in Monroe County on Wednesday, March 28. State police at Lehighton said the accident occurred about 2:55 p.m. along Interchange Road (SR209), in Polk Township.

Troopers said Tammy Vanbuskirk, of Kresgeville, was northbound and started to slow down in an attempt to make a right turn into her driveway. She activated her turn signal. Trooper John Cheponis, of the Lehighton barracks, was behind her and swerved to the right to avoid striking Vanbuskirk's 2003 Dodge Durango.

Lansford police are urging anyone who receives a call alleging a relative has been arrested in a foreign country and needs large sum of money for an attorney to contact them.

Last Thursday, a resident told police she received a phone call from someone claiming to be an attorney and saying that a relative was arrested in Mexico. The caller told the resident a taxi would be sent to her home to take her to the bank to withdraw a large sum of money to pay legal fees.

Three vehicles were entered in the Schuylkill County community of Palo Alto. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the entries occurred sometime between 4:40 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, and 6 a.m. on Wednesday. All the entries occurred along Savory St.

State police at Frackville reported investigating a three vehicle crash in Schuylkill County on Wednesday, March 27. The accident occurred about 11:31 a.m. at the intersection of state routes 895 and 443, in East Brunswick Township.

Troopers said James A. Hiller, 68, of Trout Run, Lycoming County, was eastbound on 895 and attempted to make a left turn onto 443. He failed to observe a vehicle operated by Susan A. Marcero, 65, of Hazleton, who was westbound on 895 and approaching the intersection. Marcero's 1997 Ford Windstar struck Hiller's 2010 Ford Fusion.

A Lehigh County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI), following an incident in Carbon County.

State police at Lehighton said Christopher Rivera, 18, of Allentown, was stopped along SR248 eastbound, east of State Road, in Franklin Township, about 2 a.m. on March 21 for a vehicle code violation.

He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest for DUI, troopers said.

A Tamaqua man has been charged following an incident in the borough on March 23.

Police were dispatched to the area of Orwigsburg and Bowe streets at 1:40 a.m. for a report of damage caused to vehicles.

Patrolman Karl Harig is the investigating officer. He determined that Jason Hill, 21, of Railroad St., had removed a cinderblock and brick from a property at 114 Orwigsburg St., then used the objects to damage the windshields and bodies of two parked vehicles. The vehicles are owned by John Sienkiewicz, of Bowe St.
