A deer was blamed for a one-vehicle crash that occurred in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Amanda N. Nuss, 29, of Hazleton, was driving a 2002 Toyota Echo northbound on SR924 in East Union Township, about 11:10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 8, when a deer entered the road in front of her. She swerved to avoid the animal and the car struck an embankment along the west berm. The vehicle came to rest facing west in the southbound lane.

A vehicle stop led to a wanted person arrest.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said about 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 6, officers stopped a vehicle along SR196 in Tobyhanna for a motor vehicle code violation.

At the stop the driver was identified as Javier Delvalle, 43, of Brooklyn, N.Y. A check revealed Delvalle was wanted on an arrest warrant out of Bergen Coutny, N.J. He was taken into custody and placed in the county prison in Snydersville pending extradition back to New Jersey.

The theft of an all terrain vehicle (ATV) and a burglary are being probed at two Schuylkill County locations.

State police at Frackville said the ATV was stolen from the property of Caine Brobst, 29, of 31 Farm Lane, Barnesville, Ryan Township. A 2003 Suzuki Z400 four-wheeler was removed from outside the residence sometime between 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 8, and 7:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Two persons are facing charges following an incident that was reported on Monday, Dec. 6, about 8 p.m. at 140 W. Ogden St., in Girardville.

State police at Frackville said David John Brennan, 40, during an argument with his girlfriend, allegedly pushed a television off a stand in the direction of the girlfriend's daughter. The daughter's boyfriend, Zackary Evans, 21, of Ashland, allegedly grabbed Brennan and struck him in the face.

Both Brennan and Evans will be charged with harassment, troopers said.

A Tamaqua driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred early Friday, Dec. 10.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Trent J. Jacoby, 30, was stopped about 2:55 a.m. along SR183, in the vicinity of Kramer's Equipment and Bridge Market, in Wayne Township, after being observed driving erratically.

He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest, troopers said. The DUI charge is pending.

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on two crashes probed by troopers that occurred on Schuylkill County roadways earlier this week.

A hit and run crash was reported about 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 6, along SR209, near SR125, in Tremont. Troopers said a vehicle was traveling northbound when the right passenger's side mirror struck the left driver's side mirror of a 2007 Dodge Caravan, parked at the above location. After impact the driver fled the scene north on 209.

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on two crashes probed by troopers along Schuylkill County roadways, both occurring on Wednesday, Dec. 8.

The first crash occurred about 8 a.m. along Panther Valley Road, in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Jenna L. Donmoyer, 23, of Pottsville, was driving a 2005 Ford Focus and exiting her driveway while Erik R. Bubeck, 24, of Schuylkill Haven, was westbound in a 2000 Jeep Cherokee.

Donmoyer attempted to turn left onto the road and pulled into the path of Bubeck, who swerved to avoid the Focus but could not.

A Summit Hill man was charged with driving under the influence (DUI).

According to Summit Hill police, on Nov. 1, at 6:35 p.m., officers received a report from a citizen that a vehicle was being driven erratically on the wrong side of the road and was also driving off the road. The caller also gave a description of the vehicle and driver as well as the license plate number of the vehicle.

Police investigated the call and learned that the driver was Harry Connor, 45, of 15 E. Fell St. They spoke to Connor and an investigation revealed that he was intoxicated.

Lehighton police reported on two arrests made by officers recently.

On Friday, Dec. 3, about 4 p.m. Brian T. Delaney, 43, of 2380 Little Gap Rd., Palmerton, was arrested for retail theft at Mallard Market along S. Second St. Police allege he attempted to conceal a total of $90.37 worth of merchandise.

On Saturday, Dec. 4, Edwin Mertz, 51, of 131 Mauch Chunk St., Lehighton, was cited for public drunkenness in the area of 125 Alum St.

A Brockton man has been cited by Tamaqua police following a traffic stop on Dec. 5.

Officers were on patrol when they observed a black vehicle sliding to a stop as it traveled on South Railroad Street at 3:20 a.m. When the vehicle turned right on to Broad Street, the driver accelerated rapidly. Officers followed the vehicle for a short distance then initiated a traffic stop. The driver, Travis Comisac, exhibited signs of intoxication. He was given, and failed, field sobriety tests, then transported to the Pottsville Hospital for blood tests.
