Joseph Schminkey, 39, of 2 Oak St., Lansford, and Anthony Carlino, 50, of Tamaqua, both face charges from an incident which took place on Feb. 19 at 1 Oak St., Lansford. Charges were filed by Officer Robert Shubeck.

Schminkey is charged with simple assault and two counts of harassment. Carlino is charged with defiant trespass and harassment.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, Shubeck and Officer Helmer were dispatched to 1 Oak St. for a domestic problem with an unwanted person inside.

State police at Lehighton reported on burglaries, thefts and a act of criminal mischief were investigated by troopers recently.

A break-in occurred at the home of Frank Ansted, 73, of 74 Indian Trail, Jim Thorpe, Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. Troopers said entry was made on April 20 and reported about 10 p.m. Removed from the home was prescription medications including Vicodin valued at $130 plus U.S. currency.

James Schneck, 32, of Pine Grove, has been charged by state police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks with harassment against a 14-year-old juvenile from Pine Grove.

Police said it is alleged the accused went after the boy with a closed fist and threatened to punch the boy in the face for breaking him and his aunt Pam up. Police said the accused also related to the victim, "You're lucky I don't kill you, your mother and father."

A Schuylkill County driver is facing charges following a one vehicle crash that occurred about 4:40 p.m. on Monday, April 26, along SR61, in Blythe Township.

State police at Frackville said Brianna L. Gregas, 19, of Ashland, was driving a 1995 Hyundai Accent northbound and lost control while negotiating a left curve. The car spun out of control and struck a guard rail on the right side, then continued north before coming to rest on the right berm.

Gregas was not injured. She was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

A Carbon County club has been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board for a violation of the liquor code.

East Penn Sporting Club Inc., located at 61 Club Lane, East Penn Township, was cited for violation fo the local option small games of chance act and a Department of Revenue regulations violation.

The board claims the club failed to maintain complete and truthful records covering the operation of the licensed business for a period of two years immediately preceeding March 31 concerning the local option small games of chance act.

No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash Thursday at 2:10 p.m. on the Taylorsville Road in Eldred Township, Schuylkill Haven, according to state police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks.

Police said Malorie S. Castor, 24, of Hegins, was driving a 2007 Compass westbound when she failed to negotiate a curve and the vehicle slid on the gravel on the westbound shoulder, striking a tree. The car continued west, hitting a ditch and causing the vehicle to spin clockwise 90 degrees, slamming into an embankment.

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident about 1 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, along SR54 at Big Mine Run Road, in Butler Township.

State police at Frackville said Timothy J. Dowd, 43, of Frackville, was stopped at the above location for traffic violations. He showed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. Dowd was then transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center South, Pottsville, for a blood test.

The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers said.

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a two vehicle crash about 11:25 a.m. on Sunday, April 25, at the intersection of SR183 and SR895, in Summit Station, Wayne Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said Dineshbhai Patel, 54, of Pottsville, was driving a 2009 Honda Oddysey minivan eastbound on 895 and Sallyann Burke, 41, of Wilkes-Barre, was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer southbound on 183. Troopers said at the intersection Patel pulled out from a stop sign into the path of Burke. Burke attempted to avoid a collision by steering to the open lane but could not.

Melodie Wright, 52, of 114 W. Phillips St., Coaldale, was charged with making false reports to law enforcement authorities. Barbara Wertman, 49, was also charged with forgery and making false reports to law enforcement authorities in an alleged time sheet incident.

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating two assault incidents occurring in Schuylkill County, both early on Saturday, April 24.

About 12:19 a.m. Melissa Smith, 54, and Harry Dunleavy, 46, no address given for both, left a bar and was driving towards Smith's home along SR125 near SR209, in Porter Township, when the two began to argue. Troopers said Dunleavy began punching Smith in the head and face. Smith exited the car and ran to a nearby home and called police.
