Two Monroe County drivers are facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a vehicle stop made by Pocono Mountain Regional police.

A Schuylkill County driver is facing charges following a hit-and-run accident that was reported about 6:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 22, along Knotts Road, in Wayne Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Kyle F. Lombel, 18, of Schuylkill Haven, was southbound driving a 1997 Jeep Cherokee when he veered off onto the shoulder and ran over a rural mailbox. The vehicle continued on the gravel shoulder and ran over a large plastic trash receptacle. The vehicle became stuck on the receptacle. Troopers said Lombel then backed off it and fled the scene.

Jim Thorpe Borough police are investigating two recent burglaries.

The first happened between 2-2:45 p.m. Nov. 20 at Dezines Flower Shop on Walnut Avenue. An unknown actor(s) entered the store through a back window and removed about $20 from a donation jar belonging to Carbon County Friends of Animals and another $30 from the store cash register. Detective Lee Marzen is the investigating officer, and police say criminal arrests are pending.

Three people were cited after an incident at the Citizen's Fire Company in Tamaqua early Sunday morning.

Officers were dispatched to the fire company at 12:53 a.m. for a reported fight in progress. Once on scene Patrolman Jeffrey Wainwright was approached by a male identified as Brad Sanders. Sanders said the fight was in the foyer of the building.

Inside, Wainwright found two males sitting on the floor. Both had blood on them. An additional dozen or so people were in the foyer, yelling back and forth.

A Tamaqua teen was charged after police found him to be under the influence of alcohol.

According to Summit Hill police, on Oct. 3, they were on a routine patrol in the area of East White Bear Drive when they observed a vehicle driving erratically. Officers conducted a vehicle stop and found Dakota Krapf, 18, of 152 Owl Creek Road, Tamaqua, to be under the influence of alcohol.

State police at Fern Ridge are investigating the theft of a vehicle that was later located in a wooded area.

A Lehigh County driver tried to flee from police. State police at Fogelsville said the incident began about 3:22 p.m. on Nov. 15 at Krocks Road North in Lower Macungie Township.

Troopers said they attempted to stop Jonathan Rojas, 19, of Breinigsville, for a traffic violation. Rojas failed to stop and led police on a six mile chase that ended when Rojas voluntarily stopped on Hamilton Blvd.

He was taken into custody and charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police and 12 other traffic violations, troopers said.

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating the theft of fuel from a Schuylkill County location.

Troopers said unknown criminals entered the property of Hatter's Auto Body, located at 181 Molleystown Rd., in Tremont Township, and siphoned about 60 to 80 gallons of fuel from a 2004 Freightliner roll back truck parked at that location. The truck is owned by the body shop.

The incident occurred sometime overnight of Oct. 27-28.

State police at Frackville are investigating a burglary at a Schuylkill County residence.

Troopers said the home of Gary Bachert, 41, of 429 Indian Run Rd., in New Ringgold, East Norwegian Township, was entered and personal property was removed. The incident occurred sometime between 12:30 and 5:20 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 21.

State police at Frackville reported investigating a two-vehicle crash at a Schuylkill County service station.

Troopers said about 12:07 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 21, Kamara Gonsahn, of Tobyhanna, was driving a 2006 Hyundai Sonata northbound on SR61 and attempted to turn left into the Hess Express service station in West Mahanoy Township, and pulled into the path of a southbound 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier operated by Daniel Reeves, of Shenandoah.
