A driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 2:35 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 20, along Pohopoco Drive, near Betty Lane, in Towamensing Township, Carbon County.

According to state police at Lehighton, Miranda L. Mooney, 22, of Andreas, was stopped for several traffic violations at 10:43 p.m. on Feb. 17 on SR443, Mahoning Township.

Upon further investigation, Mooney was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. A DUI charge will be filed, troopers said.

On Feb. 10 Pocono Mountain Regional police officers conducted a traffic stop in Coolbaugh Township.

The driver was identified Ricardo Powell, 37, Tobyhanna.

After a brief investigation, Powell was initially found in the possession of prohibited offensive weapons, specifically a stun gun and a pair of "shock knuckles".

State police at Lehighton reported that two males, 22 and 17 years old, were observed with a snowboard that was reported stolen from the Blue Mountain Ski Area in Lower Towamensing Township on Feb. 16 at 9:19 p.m. Video surveillance showed the actors in possession of the snowboard, which belonged to Donald R. Shambo, 19, of Northampton. The investigation is continuing.

A verbal argument became heated between Frederick A. Hauser III, 46, and Kathryn J. Suddath, 43 in their home at 297 HIll Road, Barry Township in Schuylkill County on Friday, Feb. 18 at 5:25 p.m. Hauser, who was intoxicated, slapped Suddath, his sister, across the face and then proceeded to push her down on to the living room couch and would not let her get up. The argument was then stopped by their mother and the two were separated. Hauser will be charged with Harassment at District Court 21-3-04 in Tremont, according to Pennsylvania State Police, Schuylkill Haven.

A 71-year-old resident of Honeysuckle Lane in East Penn Township reported that on Feb. 17 between 9-10:30 a.m., an unknown person entered his residence and dumped bleach on clothing and on floors.

The actor then fled the scene. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to contact state police at Lehighton, (610) 377-4270.

Brandon Lucien, 26, of Slatington, reported his cellular phone was stolen after he left it on a table in the Summit Lodge cafeteria of the Blue Mountain Ski Resort in Lower Towamensing Township.

State police at Lehighton said the phone is a Motorola Droid type and was taken sometime between 5 and 7 p.m. on Feb. 13.

On Feb. 16 at 11:20 a.m., a collision occurred when Corey R. Borger, 26 of Kunkletown was backing out of a parking spot at the Kresgeville Deli in a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt and backed into the front passenger side of a 2005 Ford F250 truck which was legally parked in the parking lot. Borger, who fled the scene north on SR209, was later charged, according to state police at Lehighton.

The Lehigh County coroner's office is seeking the next of kin of Maximino Lewis.

Lewis, 44, of 726 S. Eugene St., Allentown, died Sunday, Feb. 20, at his residence. He was pronounced dead at 9:35 p.m. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 22, to determine the exact cause of death.
