Tamaqua police are investigating a burglary at the Silver Scissors Hair Salon along SR309, near the Walker Township line. The incident was reported at 9 a.m. Saturday with the building being last secured at 12:30 p.m. Friday.

The criminals broke a window on the north east side of the building to gain entry. Once inside they removed a flat screen television and an undisclosed amount of cash.

A Carbon County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 10:14 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 3.

State police at Lehighton said Jennifer L. Roselli, 26, of Palmerton, was driving a 2000 Toyota Solara westbound on SR534, in Polk Township, Monroe County, when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed over the fog line and struck a guide rail with the front passenger side. After impact the vehicle spun clockwise ending up facing east in the westbound lane.

Troopers indicated that Roselli is facing a DUI charge.

An incident in Monroe County has led to three persons being arrested.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said on Nov. 29 about 9:55 p.m. officers were called to 5421 Dorchester Road, in Tobyhanna, for a reported fight. Upon arrival officers spoke with several persons in the home who related that an altercation occurred involving a Charlotte Jackson, 51, of Tobyhanna, Vanessa Jackson, age unknown, of Mount Vernon, N.Y., Sandra Ferguson, 23, of Florida, Michael St. Fleur, 23, and John St. Fleur, 20, both of Tobyhanna. Only the Jackson's and Ferguson were present at the time.

A Monroe County man has been cited for disorderly conduct.

Pocono Mountain Regional police were dispatched to Joe's Kwick Mart, located along SR940, in Pocono Summit, about 12:47 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 3. Upon arrival officers found Dana K. Boudreau, 41, of Pocono Lake, who appeared to be under the influence of prescribed medication.

She was placed under arrest and charged, then later released to a friend.

Tamaqua businessman Ed Paperman is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the armed robbers who entered the We R Cigarrettes Store, Mauch Chunk Street, on Friday morning, Dec. 3. Details of the robbery were published in Friday and Saturday's editions of the TIMES NEWS.

A Luzerne County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one vehicle crash that occurred about 11:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 3, in the 100 block of Mahanoy St., in the village of Nurembreg, North Union Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Samuel Red, 66, of Weston, was driving a 2003 Dodge Caravan southbound when he lost control while negotiating a left curve. His van sideswiped a Ford F350 truck and then rear-ended a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix. Both struck vehicles were legally parked, troopers noted.

State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating two crashes on Monroe County roadways recently.

A one-vehicle crash was reported about 6:33 a.m. on Dec. 2 along Pheasant Run Road, in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Steven T. Ranlett, 17, of Kunkletown, was driving a 1994 Nissan Sentra eastbound when he attempted to negotiate a left curve and hit a patch of ice. Ranlett lost control of the vehicle which spun around counter-clockwise, then rolled over onto its roof.

Ranlett was not injured. He was cited for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.

Summit Hill police are investigating an incident that broke a stained-glass window in a borough church.

According to police, on Nov. 30 police received a report of a broken window at the First Presbyterian Church, 44 W. White St. The incident happened sometime between Sunday and Tuesday.

An investigation revealed that someone had thrown a rock through the window, breaking the outside glass, as well as the stained glass on the inside of the church.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said a Fayette County man is facing bad check charges for an incident in Schuylkill County.

Troopers said Terrence Ross, 65, of Dunbar, was charged following an incident at Scenic View Whitetails, 19 Scenic View Rd., in Pine Grove Township.

Troopers said Ross purchased nine live whitetail deer from the business. Over a two day period he took possession of seven of the deer. He issued three checks for partial payment with all three checks being returned for insufficient funds. The checks were issued during the period of Sept. 4-6.
