A Schuylkill County man is facing charges following an incident at his residence.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Leonard Peiffer, 57, of Lovers Lane, Pine Grove Township, got involved in an altercation with Karen Hoy, 47, of that address, during which he allegedly pushed her down a flight of stairs causing her to lose her balance. She was not injured.

Peiffer was charged with harassment, troopers said.

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on two crashes probed on Schuylkill County roadways.

A one-vehicle crash occurred about 7:57 a.m. on June 29 along Sweet Arrow Lake Road, in Washington Township. Troopers said Matthew J. Nickerson, 27, of Ashland, was driving a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire westbound when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle crossed both lanes of travel and went onto the shoulder striking the guide rail. After impact the car went off the rail back into the westbound lane and stopped.

A Monroe County woman has been cited in a custody dispute incident.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said about 4:59 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3, they were dispatched to 5362 Lotus Terrace, A Pocono Country Place, for a custody dispute.

Police said that the child's aunt, Tricia Cox, 42, of Tobyhanna, refused to relinquish custody of the child to the father. Cox was placed under arrest without incident.

She was charged with interferring with the custody of a child and disorderly conduct.

An Oklahoma man was has been charged with raping a young girl at a residence in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville have charged Alexander G. Leshko, 40, of the 200 block of Fir Avenue, Elgin, with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, and six counts each of unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of a minor, indecent assault and indecent exposure.

Nesquehoning police reported on numerous citations issued by officers.

Officer Timothy Wuttke issued the following citations.

On July 2 Chris Lower, 351 W. Mill St., Nesquehoning, was cited for accidents involving damage to unattended vehicle or property and careless driving for an accident at the top of SR54 which occurred on June 2. He was charged with leaving the scene.

A Northumberland County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred on Friday, July 6, in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Robert Dallazia, 30, of Marion Heights, was stopped along Morea Road, just west of Eleanor Ave., in West Mahanoy Township, for a traffic violation. Dallazia was found to be under the influence and submitted to a blood test.

Troopers said the DUI charge is pending the test results. Dallazia was charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic.

A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 11:48 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, along Jonas Road, near Merwinsburg Road, in Chestnuthill Township.

State police at Fern Ridge said Cheryl Pilling, 52, of Kunkletown, was stopped operating a 2005 Jeep Liberty while westbound. She was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest for DUI, troopers said.

She was taken into custody and transported to the barracks, troopers added.

State police at Fern Ridge reported on two crashes probed on Monroe County roads.

A one vehicle crash was reported about 11:31 a.m. on July 5 along SR209, south of Camelia Road, in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Dennis G. Kowalski Jr., 20, of Kunkletown, was driving a Volkswagen Golf northbound when, for unknown reasons, he left the travel lane and made a quick hard left steering maneuver onto the berm.

The car then rotated about 80 degrees clockwise striking a ditch. After impact with the ditch the car's front end then struck a tree where it came to rest.

A Schuylkill County man wanted for aggravated assault and other charges was apprehended in Washington, D.C., and returned to the county.

State police at Frackville said Gabriel Xavier Thomas, 29, of Newport News, Va., was taken into custody on June 29 by police in the nation's capital. An arrest warrant was issued for Thomas following an incident that occurred on June 27 about 3 a.m. in the village of Cumbola, Blythe Township.

State police at Frackville obtained a criminal arrest warrant for Thomas charging him with aggravated assault.

A Tamaqua area man is facing charges following an incident at his home.

State police at Frackville said Patti Sue Coleman, 28, and James Joseph Englert, 35, of 1011 Lehigh St., Newkirk, Schuylkill Township, Tamaqua R.D., became involved in an argument over cell phone usage. The argument turned physical when Englert allegedly struck Coleman on the left side of the face.

He was cited for harassment, troopers said.
