A Luzerne County man has been charged with violating a protection from abuse (PFA) order.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said Michele Mattioli-Kulick, 56, of Bear Creek Township, reported that on Tuesday, Feb. 14, about 7:54 pm. she was visiting family along Long Pond Road, in Long Pond, when her husband, Robert Kulic, 63, of Bear Creek Township, called the home multiple times. He then began sending text messages to her which put her and her two children in fear. The contact by Kulic with his wife was a violation of a PFA order issued by the Luzerne County court.

McAdoo police have filed charges against a state constable who allegedly caused damage to a borough employee's vehicle.

James Osborne, 49, of Weissport, stopped at the McAdoo Police Station on Feb. 9, at 8:28 p.m., to ask for directions. When he was leaving, he reversed his 2005 Ford Crown Victoria, striking the parked car owned by the McAdoo Borough secretary. Osborne then left the scene without reporting the incident. When contacted, Osborne denied any involvement.

The incident was witnessed by McAdoo Police Chief Jeff Wainwright.

A Schuylkill County man is facing multiple charges following a search of his residence. State police at Frackville identified the suspect as Joshua Robert Ptaszkowksi, 22, formerly of Shenandoah, and currently an inmate at the county prison in Pottsville.

According to troopers on Jan. 18 about 2:15 p.m. they executed a search warrant at 104 W. Laurel St., Shenandoah, Ptaszkowksi's residence, for the purpose of obtaining evidence pertaining to a shooting incident that occurred along Church Street, in Ryan Township, on Jan. 16.

State police at Fern Ridge are investigating the theft of a handgun and ammunition.

Troopers said Lisa Ann Snyder, 46, of Box 37, SR715, in Tequillaville, Brodheadsville, Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, reported the theft.

She said a .40-caliber Smith & Wesson handgun and 100 rounds of 9mm ammunition was taken from her home sometime between 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, and 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

A Berks County driver was slightly injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 3:15 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 13, along Cold Run Road, in East Brunswick Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Katherine Kirkland, 26, of Hamburg, was operating a 2001 Mitsubishi southbound when she failed to negotiate a curve in the road. The car went onto the berm and struck a tree on an embankment.

The vehicle then crossed over both lanes of travel and sideswiped the steel ribbon guide rail on the west side of the road.

State police at Lehighton reported investigating several automobile crashes in recent days.

Troopers said about 2:25 p.m. on Feb. 9 Janet Gartland, 53, of Saylorsburg, was operating a 2008 Kia along Kunkletown Road near Silver Springs Blvd., in Eldred Township, Monroe County, when it left the road and crashed along the berm.

Two persons were charged following an incident in Schuylkill County. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred between 6 and 6:11 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15.

Troopers said Anthony N. Fordham, 36, of Pottsville, arrived at the residence of Kimberly A. Cook, 29, at 15 W. Savory St., Palo Alto, and caused a disturbance. Cook then made threatening statements towards Fordham.

Troopers said Fordham will be charged with simple assault and Cook with harassment as a result of the incident.

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) of a controlled substance following a one-vehicle crash. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the accident occurred about 10:43 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, along SR209 in East Norwegian Township.

Troopers said Cinthia Shaffer, 26, of Pottsville, was driving a 1993 Subaru Impreza northbound when, for unknown reasons, the car went onto the east berm where it struck a pothole. Shaffer then turned sharply to the left in order to re-enter the road.

A Monroe County man is facing several charges, including burglary, following an incident that occurred on Saturday, Feb. 11, about 4:05 a.m.

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported that Stillwater Lakes Security observed footprints in fresh snow and began following them. The footprints led to 403 Hummingbird Drive in the development, which is located in Tobyhanna Township.

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported the arrest of three individuals for underage drinking.

Police said on Sunday, Feb. 12, about 1:25 a.m. officers received a report of an underage drinking party at 108 SR940 in Pocono Summit. Officers responded to the scene and spoke with the owner of the house and were escorted inside.

Officers identified five persons under the age of 21. Police determined that three of them were drinking alcohol. Cited were Matthew Richardson, 18, of Tobyhanna, and two teens, a male age 17 and a female age 16, both from Pocono Summit.
