Two Monroe County teens are facing theft charges for allegedly entering several vehicles.

State police at Lehighton said on Aug. 13 about 12:40 p.m. Ranger David Roberts responded to Wild Crreek Trail parking lot along Pohopoco Drive, in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, for two suspicious males in the area.

Several driving under the influence (DUI) arrests were reported by state police at Lehighton, all occurring on Saturday, Aug. 14.

Troopers said Tayna Nicole Peters, 25, of Walnutport, was stopped along SR248 in Palmerton for a traffic violation. She was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. Troopers said charges will be filed. The time of the stop was not indicated on the police report.

The cause of a fire that damaged a McAdoo residence early Sunday morning is still undetermined, according to state police fire marshal Trooper Michael J. Kowalick.

The fire was discovered about 1:03 a.m. at 33 rear N. Logan St. Troopers said the residence was occupied by Randall Clawson, 54, and the building owned by Thomas Horinko, of 35 N. Logan St.

The fire started on the front porch of the home, troopers said. A story and photo of the fire scene appeared on page one of Monday's TIMES NEWS.

State police at Lehighton reported on several acts of criminal mischief being investigated by troopers.

Troopers said unknown criminals damaged crops along Spruce Road near Mt. Eaton Road, in Ross Township, Monroe County, sometime overnight of Aug. 13-14. Three hay fields were damaged when a vehicle was driven through them. Damages were estimated at $2,000. Anthony John Compagnola, 36, of Bath, is the owner of the fields.

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a one vehicle crash about 2:27 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, in the area of 1141 Pottsville St., in Mechanicsville, just outside Pottsville.

Troopers said Brittany Guris, 20, of Pottsville, was driving a 1997 Chrysler Town & Country van eastbound when she became distracted. The van drifted onto the south berm where the right front struck the left rear of a legally parked 2007 Honda Civic. After impact the van traveled across the road about 120 feet and impacted with a concrete curb near the intersection with Chestnut St.

A Monroe County man is facing a charge of disorderly conduct following an incident that occurred about 11:40 p.m. on Aug. 18 in the parking lot of the WaWa store in Brodheadsville, Chestnuthill Township.

State police at Fern Ridge said Robert Kish, 28, of Kunkletown, approached Vincent Fiorica, 19, of Brodheadsville, as he sat in his vehicle. Kish allegedly started yelling at Fiorica to engage in a fight with him. Kish then grabbed Fiorica's wrist.

A Tamaqua woman reported having her vehicle egged while it was parked on a lot at the Rite Aid drug store in Tamaqua on Friday.

According to police, someone threw eggs on a 1997 Volkswagon Jetta owned by April Reznick, of Center Street.

State police at Lehighton reported on several arrests made by troopers in recent days.

A Kunkletown, Monroe County, man was cited twice on Friday, Aug. 20. Troopers said about 5 a.m. Jared Lee DaHaven, 25, was cited for simple assault for an incident at SR534 and Middle Creek Rd., in Polk Township. He was involved in a verbal altercation with a 25-year-old female from Kunkletwon during which he allegedly struck her in the face with a closed fist. The woman sustained injuries to the face, troopers added.

A Berks County man is facing charges for a burglary that occurred in Schuylkill County. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the burglary occurred sometime between 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 12 and 5:50 a.m. on Aug. 13 at 1637 Summer Hill Road, in South Manheim Township.

According to troopers on Friday, Aug. 20, troopers executed search warrants at numerous locations in Berks County. Items that were taken in the Schuylkill burglary were seized during the searches.

A suspicious male was found knocking on the front door of a residence at 287 Graham Ln. in the Pocono Farms East Community on Aug. 19 at 3:14 a.m. according to Pocono Mountain Regional police.

Police were dispatched to the scene and identified the male as Ikki Daveiga, 23 of Green Rd., Tobyhanna. Daveiga told police he was lost and trying to get home after leaving a friend's house. Daveiga was under the influence of alcohol and taken into custody for public drunkenness.
