A Carbon County business has been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board for violating the liquor code.

Gemstar Enterprises Inc., trading as Rubys Saloon, 298 Bridge St., Lehighton, was cited for used, or permitted to be used on the inside of the licensed premises, a loudspeaker or similar device whereby the sound of music or other entertainment, or the advertisement thereof, could be heard outside.

A Berks County man was cited for an incident in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Harry H. Grym, 64, of Hamburg, arrived at the residence of Anthony E. Sparacino, 54, of 363 Pine Valley Road, New Ringgold, East Brunswick Township, about 2 a.m. on Friday, July 22.

The two men got into a altercation in the driveway area. Grym allegedly struck Sparacino in the head with his fist. Troopers said Grym was charged with harassment.

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a threat incident in which a gun was used.

Troopers said about 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, Herbert H. Krause, 81, of 317 Rock Road, in Pine Grove Township, pulled into the driveway of his home. An unknown person driving a pickup truck pulled along the side of the driveway and pointed what appeared to be a pistol, brown in color, at Krause.

A Schuylkill County man was jailed on Sunday, July 24, on a charge of domestic simple assault.

State police at Frackville said troopers were called to the residence of Harry Hosler, 30, and Brandy Lorah, 20, of 28 Old Team Road, Barnesville, Ryan Township, about 9:11 p.m.

Troopers said during a domestic dispute Hosler allegedly slammed Lorah into a wall.

Troopers said they observed bruising on Lorah.

A youngster was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the accident occurred about 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, along Market St., in Port Carbon, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said an 11-year-old female attempted to cross the street and was struck by a GMC Sierra driven by Kelly L. Lipshaw, 40, of Port Carbon. The right side of the GMC made contact with the female.

No one was injured but one driver cited in a two vehicle crash that occurred about 9:27 p.m. on Friday, July 22, along Kunkletown Road in Ross Township, Monroe County.

State police at Lehighton said Joshua M. Miles, 25, of Saylorsburg, was eastbound when he made a left turn in the path of vehicle operated by William M. Warnke, 38, of Saylorsburg, who was westbound. The right front of Warnke's 1998 Dodge Dakota struck the right rear of Miles' 1999 Chevrolet Prism.

Troopers cited Miles for vehicle turning left.

A large quantity of copper cable has been reported stolen in Carbon County.

State police at Lehighton said two reels of copper cable were stolen from 180 Pine St., Lower Towamensing Township. The theft was reported at 4:27 a.m. on July 12.

The cable is the property of Pencor Services, of Palmerton, and is valued at $1,956.

Troopers said the criminals had to use a truck to remove the reels from the site.

Rush Township Police made two drug-related arrests this week.

George Cope, 24, of Shillington, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia on Wednesday, after officers observed a crack pipe, in plain view, in Cope's vehicle. The incident took place at 1:50 a.m. in the area of Tamaqua Street.

Nicholas H. Lambert, 25, of Freeland, was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana on Thursday. Lambert was walking in the area of the Pines Motel at 3:38 a.m. at the time of the incident.

A Monroe County man is facing sexual assault charges.

State police at Fern Ridge said Michael Vitagliano, 51, of 110 Blue Ridge Drive, Effort, Chestnuthill Township, has been charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and related offenses.

Troopers allege that Vitagliano assaulted a 15-year-old male from Effort. According to troopers the victim came to Vitagliano's home to perform yard work. During some of these occasions Vitalgaliano would pay the victim money for sexual favors.

A spool of copper wiring was reported stolen in a Schuylkill County burglary.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the break-in occurred at the BJ Baldwin Electric Inc., property along Centre Turnpike (SR61), in Deer Lake borough.

Troopers said a wooden trailer door was forced open and the spool, which contained about 500-feet of wiring, was removed. The incident was reported at 1:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 21.
