State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks released their statistical report of activities for the month of August.

In the criminal division there were 156 offenses reported with 151 founded, 68 cleared and 47 arrests made. In the traffic division there were 72 crashes, no fatalities, eight hit and runs, 16 injured, six drunk driving arrests, nine drunk driving related crashes, 208 citations issued and 95 written warnings handed out.

There were 717 incidents for the month.

A Schuylkill County woman is facing a charge of retail theft.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Melissa Bradley, 44, of Pottsville, was arrested she was allegedly observd placing various items in her purse and attempting to leave BG's Value Market, 70 Kings Village Plaza, in Norwegian Township, without paying for them. The incident occurred about 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 31, troopers said.

State police at Lehighton have charged a Monroe County woman with making a false rape report.

Troopers said Christeen Denise O'Neill, 46, of Saylorsburg, has been charged with two counts each of false reports, intimidation of witnesses and furnishing alcohol to minors and one count of unsworn falsification.

According to troopers O'Neill and her husband, Robert, had a party at their residence in August in which alcohol was served to minors. She and her husband were arrested for having a domestic dispute during the party. The husband then left the residence.

A Schuylkill County man is facing charges following a domestic incident.

State police at Frackville said about 1 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 13, troopers were called to 244 High Road, Minersville, Cass Township, for a domestic assault report. Troopers said Shawn F. Sukeena, 33, and Crystal A. Kowalick, 27, of that address, were involved in an argument. At one point Sukeena allegedly grabbed Kowalick by the throat and pushed her into a wall. Sukeena fled the scene prior to the arrival of troopers.

Charges are pending, troopers said.

A Monroe County driver is facing several charges following a incident that occurred on Friday, Sept. 10, along SR115 in Tobyhanna Township.

State police at Fern Ridge said a car was observed being driven erratically along SR115 northbound and failed to stop for a red light at the intersection with SR940. Police attempted to stop the vehicle with emergency lights and siren but the driver fled northbound.

The driver eventually stoppd at the Hill Crest Apartments along 115 but the driver refused to listen to the directions of officers and was tased and taken into custody.

Walnutport police released their statistical report of activities for August.

Police received 192 calls for service, 35 traffic citations issued, 13 criminal arrests made, three parking tickets issued and 44 warnings handed out.

A Lehigh County incident ended tragically on Saturday when a despondent male took his life after state police negotiated with the man for several hours to try and resolve the situation.

State police at Fogelsville were called to 1203 Eagle St., in the Shepherd Hills development, in Lower Macungie Township, about 8:23 a.m. to a report of a despondent male who was barraicaded in his residence.

Upon arrival troopers were told by family members that Trevor D. Sterner, 39, of that address, had a handgun and had made threats of suicide following a family dispute.

A Carbon County woman was arrested for retail theft in Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said Nicole Bollinger, 22, of Palmerton, was cited for an incident at the Walmart store at 1091 Millcreek Rd., in Lower Macungie Township.

Troopers alleged she attempted to steal $373.19 worth of merchandise from the store by concealing it in her purse. The incident occurred about 2:35 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8.

She was taken into custody and committed to the county prison on a detainer issued out of the sheriff's office of Carbon County.

Lehighton borough police have issued a citation to Robert H. Bunch, 26, of 1355 Greenwood St., Palmerton, for smoking on borough property at South Seventh and Iron streets.

The site is the Community Grove, where smoking is prohibited via a borough ordinance.

The incident happened at 7 p.m. on Sept. 8.

Police also cited a 16-year-old male from Palmerton for disorderly conduct on Sept. 8 at 10:55 p.m. for an incident in the vicinity of Bankway and E. Bridge St.

Two drivers were seriously injured in a crash that occurred about 12:51 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12, in the area of 325 Clarks Valley Road, in Porter Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Dustin Hand, 22, of Williamstown, was westbound in a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu while Barbara Wirt, 52, of Tower City, was eastbound in a 2010 Ford Focus. Troopers said Hand failed to negotiate a curve and crossed into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with Wirt.
