A motorcyclist has died of injuries he sustained in a crash in Carbon County.

The Lehigh Coroner's Office reported that Edward Blew, 52, of 2244 Candlewood Drive, Blakeslee, died on Tuesday, June 22, at 5:05 p.m. at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill, of injuries he sustained in a crash that occurred on June 19. Coroner Scott Grim said Blew died of head injuries.

The crash occurred about 4:30 p.m. on Fairyland Road, between Overlook Drive and Harrity Road, in Franklin Township, just west of Beltzville State Park.

Substantial amounts of cash and property were taken in two separate burglaries which occurred at two Schuylkill County residences. State police at Schuylkill Haven investigated the break-ins. In one incident two juveniles have been listed as suspects.

A Schuylkill County driver was cited after she was involved in a one-vehicle crash about 5:43 p.m. on Monday, June 21, along SR183 in Cressona.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Melody A. Williams, 28, of Tremont, was southbound operating a 2001 BMW when she failed to negotiate a left curve. The vehicle left the road and struck a utility pole with the right front end. After impact the car spun in a clockwise direction and came to final rest facing northwest.

Pocono Mountain Regional police are investigating a burglary.

Police were called to 63 Pinecrest Drive, Pocono Pines, about 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 20. On scene officers spoke with Steve Szydlowski, 50, of 10 Dante Close, Moosic, Lackawanna County. He told officers he was checking on his new home construction and found that five televisons, ranging from 42 to 50-inches, had been removed from the home. Some of the TVs were still new and in their original boxes.

State police at Fern Ridge have cited a Monroe County man for false alarms.

Troopers said Carmon Hom, of Albrightsville, was cited for causing or permitting four or more false alarm activations during a consecutive 12-month period of August 2009 to June.

A Monroe County man has been charged by the office of state Attorney General with environmental crimes.

AG Tom Corbett said Gerald Gay, 45, of Box 653, Tannersville, has been arrested by agents of his office for illegally dumping contaminated soil brought from New York City. The soil failed to meet the state's Clean Fill standards due to elevated arsenic levels.

According to the complaint, Gay received more than 6,700 tons of soil from the Bronx. Gay is accused of dumping 232 dump truck loads of the contaminated soil at his Castle Creek Estates property in Hamilton Township.

A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident on Sunday, June 20, about 10:20 p.m. along Fiddletown Road, in Eldred Township.

State police at Lehighton said Linda Mary Moore, 56, of Kunkletown, was stopped for several motor vehicle code violations. She was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest for DUI, troopers said.

A teenage driver is facing charges following a one- vehicle crash that occurred about 5:24 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, along Long Pond Road, a mile south of SR940.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said a 16-year-old male from Idlewild Drive, Tobyhanna, was traveling northbound when he attempted to pass another vehicle in a no passing zone. He lost control of his vehicle and struck a telephone pole along the berm.

The teen was not injured. He will be charged with several motor vehicle code violations, police said.

A Tamaqua man is facing a charge of criminal trespass following an incident that occurred in Ryan Township.

State police at Frackville said Zachary L. Wentz, 22, has been charged in connection with an incident that occurred about 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22, at the property of Stephen Dudash, 50, of 1029 Barnesville Drive, Barnesville.

Rush Township police arrested Troy L. Kane, 45, of Jim Thorpe, on Sunday, June 20, at 2:55 p.m. Kane is facing retail theft charges after allegedly stealing $15 worth of merchandise from Walmart in Hometown.
