Tamaqua police have cited two residents following an argument on Tuesday morning, Nov. 1.

Officers received a report at 8 a.m. concerning a loud altercation in the area of Brown and Pitt streets. On scene officers found Jeffrey David Boyer and Corrine Duke of 246 Brown St., involved in the dispute.

Both were cited for disorderly conduct.

State police at Lehighton reported on crashes investigated by troopers recently.

A one-vehicle crash occurred about 12:01 a.m. on Oct. 26 along Smithlane Road in East Penn Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Samantha L. Wilson, 20, of Lehighton, was driving a 2001 Volkswagen southbound when she said a deer entered the road in front of her. She swerved to avoid the animal and lost control. The car crossed the southbound lane and went onto the berm where it struck a tree.

Wilson was injured but did not require immediate medical attention.

State police at Lehighton reported on theft incidents being probed by troopers.

Timothy R. Groegler, 52, of Forest Inn Road, Lehighton, Towamensing Township, Carbon County, reported about $100 in U.S. currency, jewelry and a blank check was taken from his bedroom. The incident occurred sometime between Friday, Oct. 28, and Sunday, Oct. 30.

A Jim Thorpe driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI).

Borough poilce said on Friday, Sept. 23, about 8:29 p.m. officers stopped Steven M. Roberti Jr., 26, of 320 North St., for traffic violations while exiting the Jim Thorpe Market, at 101 Laurel St.

Roberti displayed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. He was placed under arrest for DUI and taken for a blood test. The test result showed a .21BAC.

Charges were filed with District Judge Edward Lewis, Jim Thorpe, police said.

Crystal Heffelfinger, 31, of 201 E. Kline Ave. Apt. #2, Lansford, faces charges from an incident which took place at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 5. Heffelfinger is charged with false identification to law enforcement, driving with no insurance, driving under suspension, driving without a license, unlawful activities relating to exhaust systems, exhaust systems and noise control, and violations concerning licenses.

State police at Lehighton reported on the following arrests made by troopers.

Troopers said William J. Moyer, 32, of Palmerton, was arrested for public drunkenness following an incident that occurred at the 57 Hotel, located along 57 Road in Eldred Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said about 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, Moyer was involved in a fight with another individual inside the hotel. He was found to be intoxicated and cited.

A police log item published in Monday's edition contained an error concerning the number of times David R. Cipko, 33, of 175 Penn St., Tamaqua, allegedly made repeated, unwanted phone calls to the cell phone of Earl Hartranft of Coal Street. Cipko sent four text messages to Hartranft on Oct. 16.

Cipko was cited for harassment.

State police at Fern Ridge are investigating a burglary that occurred at a Carbon County home.

Troopers said a residence along Washington Street in East Side Boro, was entered sometime between 9:30 and 11:45 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31. Removed from the home was a gun, video game player and boys' high school class rings.

Troopers listed the victims as a 48-year-old female and a 45-year-old male from White Haven.

A Tamaqua Area Senior High School student was cited by police twice on Friday, Oct. 28, and faces disciplinary action under the district's zero tolerance policy.

Officers were dispatched to the school at 9:30 a.m. to deal with a student who appeared to be suffering from the ill effects of alcohol. Joseph Kamant, 18, of 304 Spruce St., Tamaqua, was cited for underage drinking after officers determined he had been drinking alcohol the night before.

State police at Lehighton reported on several driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by troopers over the past weekend.

Troopers said about 7:09 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, they responded to a crash along SR248 in Bowmanstown. Troopers said Heath C. Bullard, 40, of Lehighton, was driving a 2008 Mazda westbound when the vehicle left the roadway and struck the rear passenger side of a Ford F550 truck with the front driver side of the Mazda. The Ford was parked and operarted by Craig A. Johnson, 50, of Reading.
