Jim Thorpe police reported on four driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by officers recently.

On March 11 about 1:45 a.m. police stopped a vehicle operated by Roberto Magobet, 32, of 641 N. Locust St., Hazleton, for a vehicle code violation. Magobet was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest. The DUI charge has been filed, police said.

A Lehighton woman was cited for retail theft for an incident in Monroe County.

State police at Fern Ridge said troopers were called to Kinsley's Market, SR209, in Brodheadsville, Chestnuthill Township, about 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 5, for a report of a person stopped for theft.

Troopers said Penny Kay Pollard, 52, allegedly placed items in her purse and attempted to leave the store without paying for them after paying for other items she had in a shopping cart.

She was issued a citation and released.

Charges were filed against a Jim Thorpe woman for a theft that occurred in 2009.

According to Summit Hill police the incident happened on June 9, 2009. Reports state that Kelly Hendricks, 38, of 529 Center Ave., took $500 from a borough resident.

She was charged with theft by unlawful taking and harassment.

A Jim Thorpe teen is facing multiple charges following an incident that occurred in the borough on March 12 about 12:50 a.m.

Borough police said officers were dispatched to 205 Center Ave. for a report of criminal mischief. While investigating the incident police encountered William B. Maurer, 19, of 137 Lentz Trail, who was underaged and displayed signs of being heavily intoxicated, police said.

A Summit Hill man was charged after police learned that he was threatening a woman and her unborn child.

According to Summit Hill police, at 10:38 a.m., on March 19, officers were dispatched to 325 W. White St., for a domestic dispute. Upon arrival they found the female victim at the residence. It was learned that Joseph Kosalko Jr., 31, of the aforementioned address, had threatened violence against the female and her unborn child.

He was charged with terroristic threats and harassment.

The Lansford Police Department is investigating a burglary at the Family Dollar store on the east end of town.

Officer Amie Barclay responded to an alarm call at the store on East Patterson Street at 5:21 a.m. Tuesday.

Upon arrival, she saw that a burglary had occurred with the actor(s) using a rock to gain access through the front door of the building. Summit Hill Police Chief Joseph Fittos responded to assist in checking the building and surrounding area. It was found that the actor(s) had unsuccessfully attempted to enter through several other doors of the building.

Lansford police have arrested a Coaldale man suspected of a bath salts-related knifepoint robbery on Sunday.

On Sunday evening, police responded to 17 Walnut St. after receiving a dispatch of a robbery involving a knife and the suspect left the scene, high on bath salts. Additional units from Summit Hill, Nesquehoning, and Coaldale responded to assist, said Lansford Officer Chris Ondrus.

An Effort woman has been charged with public drunkeness by the Pocono Mountain Regional police.

Diana Carmona, 46, was cited at 8:32 p.m. on April 2 on Sullivan Trial in Tobyhanna Township.

Police officers were dispatched to the area for an intoxicated female walking down the middle of the road. When officers arrived they saw a female fall on the side of the road.

The female then began walking down the middle of Sullivan Trail, police allege.

They said Carmona was covered in mud from falling and was highly intoxicated to the point she was a danger to herself.

A former Tamaqua man residing in Pottsville has been cited for violating a protection from abuse (PFA) order after he made repeated attempts to communicate with the victim.

According to police, Angie Bravo, of 318 Lafayette St., contacted police after receiving harassing phone calls from Michael Bravo on March 22 and 23. The calls began at 6:10 a.m. on March 22, with the last one made 4:35 p.m. on March 23. Bravo also allegedly mailed a letter containing a photo, a note and a lottery ticket to the victim, which was delivered on March 29.

Two Florida residents were cited in Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Judith Ann Smedley, 49, and Frederick Henry Schrader Jr., 40, both of Port Charlotte, were found in a wooded area behind the Pottsville Park Plaza, in Norwegian Township, about 12:21 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, intoxicated and arguing.

Both were issued citations for public drunkenness, troopers said.
