A 20-year-old man was charged with theft after he stole items from a residence in Summit Hill.

According to Summit Hill police, on May 12, officers received a report of cash and jewelry missing from a borough residence. An investigation led to Timothy Keiper 20, whose current address on file is the Carbon County Corrections Facility, who had stolen the items.

He was charged with theft by lawful taking.

A Summit Hill woman was arrested and charged following a dispute with borough police officers.

According to Summit Hill police, on May 9, at 10:38 p.m., officers were dispatched for the third time to 129 E. Fell St. for a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, police overheard Marie Caruso, 48, of the above address, yelling loudly and using profane language.

The responding officer warned Caruso repeatedly to calm down but she continued her actions.

She was taken into custody and charged with persistent disorderly conduct.

A motorcyclist was injured in a crash along Interstate 81 in Butler Township, Schuylkill County. State police at Frackville said the accident occurred about 7:16 p.m. on Sunday, July 29.

Troopers said David Douglas Kulp, 47, of Ashland, was operating a 2004 Harley Davidson cycle northbound in the left lane when he traveled onto the median. The bike then rolled several times and came to rest near mile marker 119.7.

Kulp sustained a moderate injury and was treated at the scene by Ashland ambulance personnel. The bike had to be towed from the scene.

A Schuylkill County man was jailed early Sunday morning following a domestic incident.

State police at Frackville said the incident occurred at 19 Church St., Gilberton, about 12:30 a.m. Troopers said Gary Schaeffer, 54, and a 50-year-old woman, both of that address (troopers did not identity the victim), became involved in a verbal dispute.

A Nesquehoning man was charged with multiple offenses after he crashed his vehicle in Summit Hill and fled the scene.

According to Summit Hill police, on May 3, at 5:24 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of the Panther Valley High School along Route 209 for a one-vehicle accident. The driver had fled the scene on foot.

After an investigation was conducted, it was learned that the driver of the vehicle, Cody Kmetz, 20, of 3 Second Ave., was inhaling a substance at the time of the accident.

A Carbon County business has been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board.

Failte Inc., trading as Molly Maguire's Pub & Steak House, 5 Hazard Square, Jim Thorpe, was cited for used, or permitted to be used on the outside of the licensed premises, a loudspeaker or similar device whereby the sound of music or other entertainment, or the advertisement thereof, could be heard beyond the licensee's property line.

A Lansford man was cited after he trespassed.

According to Summit Hill police, on April 7, at 9:19 a.m., officers received a report of an unwanted person at a residence in Summit Hill.

Upon arrival, they found Terry Phillips, 37, of 34 E. Water St.

He had been warned that that he was not allowed to be at the residence but was up in the attic.

He was charged with criminal trespass.

An Andreas man was charged with multiple offenses after Summit Hill police found him to be in possession of drugs.

According to borough police, on March 11, at 8:12 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle without working lights above the license plate.

When approaching the vehicle, police could smell the odor or marijuana. It was then learned that the driver, Samuel Tuckett, 18, of 21 Bolichs Road, had marijuana in the vehicle.

A Summit Hill man was charged with harassment after he threatened his neighbors.

According to Summit Hill police, on March 15, at 11:50 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of the 300 block of East White Street.

Upon arrival, it was learned that James Foreaker, 32, of 303 E. White St., had an altercation with his neighbors and made a threat to one of them.

Summit Hill police are cracking down on the use of all terrain vehicles (ATVs) and four-wheelers on borough streets.

Police Chief Joseph Fittos announced that in recent weeks the department has received numerous complaints about citizens riding ATVs and four-wheelers in the borough. He said that there will be zero tolerance on those individuals who are found by police riding these vehicles on the streets.

Anyone caught riding ATVs and four-wheelers on the streets in Summit Hill will be arrested.
