A Schuylkill County man was jailed on charges of assault and threats.

State police at Frackville said on Wednesday, May 23, about 5:30 p.m. along Interstate 81 in Delano Township, Patricia Mistishin and Christopher John Cuozzo, both of Port Carbon, became involved in a physical altercation. During the altercation it is alleged that Cuozzo struck and choked Mistishin and pulled out a knife and threatened to kill her.

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a two-vehicle crash about 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, at the intersection of North West Lawn Road and SR4004, in Branch Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said Lillian C. Drayer, 80, of Hummelstown, Dauphin County, was southbound on North West Lawn Road and stopped at the intersection. She then pulled into the intersection where the front of her 2009 Toyota Camry struck the passenger side front of a 2004 Lexus 330 driven by Bernadette M. Bremer, 64, of Minersville, who was westbound on 4004.

Amanda Messsinger, 22, and Todd Messinger, 25, both of 172 Creekside Manor, Lehighton, are facing one count each of simple assault and harassment following an incident that took place at 714 Mahoning St., on May 6.

Lehighton police said a verbal and physical altercation occurred at the above stated location and time in which it is alleged that Amanda Messinger punched a 53-year-old female in the face and Todd Messinger punched a 24-year-old male in the face.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said a Monroe County woman has been jailed on several counts including prescription fraud.

Police said on May 3 about 2 p.m. they received a report from employees of the Blakeslee Pharmacy about prescription fraud.

Police allege that Michele Szumera, 48, of Canadensis, called in a prescription for 30 oxycodone tablets. She later arrived at the pharmacy to obtain the tablets.

A Lebanon County driver was cited following a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 10:55 p.m. on Friday, May 25, along SR895 in East Brunswick Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Genale M. Smith, 42, of Jonestown, was driving a 2001 Jeep Wrangler eastbound when she fell asleep at the wheel causing her to lose control.

The Jeep went onto the south shoulder where it struck the guiderail, then rolled over onto the driver's side. The Jeep came to rest in a field.

A Luzerne County teen driver escaped injury after her car left a Schuylkill County road and crashed head-on into a tree.

State police at Frackville said Nicole M. Prokop, 19, of Conyngham, was operating a 2000 Saturn SC2 southbound on Silverbrook Road, in Kline Township, about 1:10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, when she said she looked down at the radio while negotiating a right hand curve.

The car left the road and struck the tree. Troopes said Prokop was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 3:56 a.m. on Sunday, May 27, along Crestview Drive in Tobyhanna.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers responded to the above location, in A Pocono Country Place development, to a report of a vehicle stuck in a ditch.

Paul David Weirich, 25, of 105 Miner St., Coaldale, faces burglary and related charges stemming from a break-in.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, here's what happened:

Officer Joseph Krebs was on duty on April 26 when he received a phone call at 3:18 p.m. from a Kayla Leibowitz, who told him that a friend with whom she lives is "in a situation and is afraid to report it to police."

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a theft from vehicle incident in Schuylkill County.

Troopers said the 1987 Dodge Ram Charger of Eric Shubrooks, 39, of Shenandoah, was entered while parked along SR209 at the off-ramp of Interstate 81, in Frailey Township.

Troopers said rocks were thrown through four windows of the vehicle to gain entry.

Removed from the vehicle was numerous electronic items such as stereo, amplifier and subwoofers. The incident occurred sometime between Wednesday, May 23, at 11:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday.

The Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board has cited a Carbon County business.

Gina Properties, trading as Lizard Creek Tavern, 1424 W. Lizard Creek Road, Lehighton, East Penn Township, was cited for fortified, adulterated and/or contaminated liquor. The violation occurred on April 28, the liquor board charged.
