A Schuylkill County man was jailed over the past weekend on several charges.

State police at Frackville said the incident occurred about 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4, at 296 Florida Ave., in Shenandoah Heights, West Mahanoy Township.

Troopers allege that Joseph J. Yuelling, 40, of Shenandoah, entered the home of Bernadette Chesonis, 39, of the above address, by cutting a screen window located on a second floor bedroom. He was observed by Chesonis inside the home, who then contacted family members.

A Carbon County driver is facing drug charges following a vehicle stop. State police at Lehighton said the incident occurred about 10 p.m. on Sept. 2 along SR443 in the area of Lehighton Ford dealership in Lehighton.

Troopers said Floyd Warren Michael, 25, of Lehighton, was stopped for a vehicle code violation.

A further investigation revealed Michael to be in possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription and possession fo drug paraphernalia.

Troopers said he will be charged with drug counts.

Five persons were arrested following an incident in Lehighton.

Borough police said all five were cited for harassment following a verbal altercation and disturbance at 201 S. Second St., on Saturday, Aug. 28, about 9:25 p.m.

Cited were Amber Borger, 22, Geff Marth, 23, and Gilbert Rivera, 25, all of 977 Wyandotte St., Bethlehem; Stephanie Boger, 20, and Scott Rex, 29, both of 201 S. Second St.

A Lehighton man was cited for violating a borough ordinance.

Borough police said Steven West, 45, of 202 S. Fourth St., was cited for repairing a vehicle on borough streets. The incident occurred on Monday, Aug. 30, at 5:20 p.m., police said.

Four persons were arrested, one twice, for incidents in Lehighton.

Borough police said David Shiffert, 64, of 27 Bull Run St., Coaldale, was cited for disorderly conduct on Aug. 30 about 8:30 p.m. after he allegedly urinated in public in a parking lot to the rear of 111 N. First St.

On Sept. 1 at 12:47 p.m., Oscar Santos, 27, of Hazleton was arrested by Rush Township Police for fleeing and eluding and driving under the influence (DUI).

Santos was taken back to the police station for a breath test. The test results were a .197 percent.

Police learned that Santos was wanted by ICE. ICE officials picked Santos up and is waiting deportation. Santos said he has been here for 12 years and is from Honduras.

Guns and other items were taken in a Schuylkill County burglary. It was one of two burglaries investigated in the county by state police at Frackville.

Troopers said the break-in occurred at the home of Joseph Gwyther, 53, of 139 Peach Drive, New Ringgold, East Brunswick Township. Troopers said entry occurred sometime between 11:45 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4.

Removed from the home were two handguns, a flat-screen television, a laptop computer, a digital camera, money and jewelry.

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI).

State police at Frackville said Jospeh F. Thurs, 36, of Frackville, was observed driving along SR4030 in Gilberton about 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 5, in the middle of the road. He then entered SR924 toward Frackville and accelerated with speeds reaching 90 miles-per-hour.

He was eventually stopped and found to be under the influence. He submitted to a breath test at the barracks which showed he was over the legal limit of .08 percent.

He was charged with DUI.

A large quantity of drugs were found following a vehicle stop in Monroe County. Pocono Mountain Regional police said the stop was made about 9:01 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 3, at the intersection of Interstate 380 and SR940 in Pocono Summit.

One of two drivers involved in a crash that occurred about 7:39 p.m. on Sept. 2 at the intersection of state routes 115 and 903, in Tobyhanna Township, Monroe County, was cited.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said Carissa McCaughey, 23, of Blakeslee, was drivng southbound on 115 and approaching the intersection when a vehicle driven by Patrick Fitzsimons, 49, of Danville, Ky., failed to stop for a stop sign and entered the intersection and collided into McCaughey's vehicle.
