A former Tamaqua man, with no current permanent address, has been lodged in the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville, after violating a protection from abuse order.

State police will conduct a child safety seat installation on Friday at a Schuylkill County location.

The installation program will be held at the West End Fire Company at 700 W. Mahanoy St., Mahanoy City, beginning at 7 a.m. and continuing to 3 p.m.

The events are conducted in conjunction with the state Department of Transportation.

Gianpaolo Sarnelli, 18, of Albrightsville, escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash Sunday at 1:10 a.m. on Township Route 473 in Penn Forest Township, according to state police at the Fern Ridge barracks.

Police said he was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer east on Stoney Mountain Road (T.R. 473), about 443 feet west of Milton Way, when it crossed over into the westbound lane, slid off the roadway and rolled over.

Rush Township Police are investigating a burglary at Philo Fuel Mart, 704 Claremont Ave (Route 309).

The front door of the market was smashed in, and a large amount of money and cigarettes were taken.

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks are investigating a theft incident that happened between Aug. 9 and Sept. 12 in Penn Forest Township.

The victim is 84-year-old Douglas Rudolph of Port Jervis, N.Y.

Police said someone entered his property at 215 Meckesville Road in the township and took a washer and dryer without permission after being evicted from a house.

Police said the actor is unknown and the investigation is continuing.

Jim Thorpe police reported the arrest of a borough resident.

Police said about 7:15 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 19, officers were called to Twining Park, located along E. Front St., for an unresponsive male.

On scene the male was identified as Raymond R. Donner, of 716 Center St.

Donner displayed signs of intoxication and later admitted to consuming 18 beers. Donner was transported to the Lehighton hospital for an evaluation. He was cited for public drunkenness.

A traffic stop by members of the Pocono Mountain Regional police led to the arrest of two persons on drug charges.

Officers stopped a vehicle about 1:51 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 21, along SR940 in Pocono Summit for a motor vehicle code violation.

The driver was identified as Keith Kaiser, 21, of Pocono Lake, and his passenger as Deanne Fultz, 26, of Long Pond. During the stop officers observed marijuana in the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle was conducted and marijuana, along with various drug paraphernalia, was found.

Jim Thorpe police are warning borough residents of a phone scam.

Police said a resident received a phone call from a male individual allegedly from Jamaica, who stated the resident had recently won a car.

The caller advised the resident to send him $350. He called from number (876) 586-8598.

Anyone receiving calls from individuals stating that they are the winning recipient in any type of drawing/contest and asked to send money should contact police.

A Northampton County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident in Monroe County.

State police at Fern Ridge said Thomas R. Halley, of Easton, was stopped along SR209 near Chestnut St., in Brodheadsville, Chestnuthill Township, about 10:07 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17.

He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest for DUI, troopers said. Charges will be filed.

A Monroe County man has been charged with stalking his ex-wife.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said Carl Cramer, 30, of Albrightsville, was arrested on Saturday, Sept. 18, after police spotted him parked in a car along Industrial Park Drive, in Mt. Pocono, across from where his ex-wife works. Police said as they approached the car he drove off but was stopped a short distance later.

Police were looking for him after he allegedly told the woman that he was planning to kill her.
