An arrest has been made in connection with a theft incident that occurred in Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Bradley A. Hartranft, 18, of Cressona, has been charged with the theft and related offenses. He is charged with the theft of a ladies Rolex watch and a bridal set, containing a solitare diamond engagement ring with a ring guard, from a jewelry box.

The theft occurred sometime between Aug. 31 and Sept. 5 from the residence of Justine Sanders, of 69 Schuylkill St., Cressona.

Pocono Mountain Regional police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Kmart store in Mt. Pocono.

Police said about 11:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2, officers were called to the store to a report of a person robbed in the parking lot area. On arrival police found Blanche Howard, 57, of Pocono Lake, seated in her vehicle being attended to by security personnel.

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating acts of criminal mischief in which two Schuylkill County businesses were the victims.

Troopers said unknown criminals shot out five windows at Season's Art Landscape Design, 1363 Centre Turnpike (SR61), and one window at Real People Inc., at 1165 Centre Turnpike, with BB pellets. The incident occurred sometime between 7 and 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 1.

A domestic incident has led to the arrest of a Slatington resident.

Borough police said about 1:11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2, officers responded to 120 Hill St. to a report of a domestic incident between a male and female.

As a result of an investigation police charged Michael Kern, 42, of that address, with domestic simple assault and harassment.

A deer and a vehicle collided in a Schuylkill County crash. It was one of two crashes investigated by state police at Frackville on Tuesday, Nov. 2.

Troopers said Gregory M. Wilson, 21, of Girardville, was operating a 2009 Dodge Caliber southbound on SR813 in Wayne Township, about 6:20 a.m. when a deer entered the road in front of him. Wilson attempted to avoid the deer but could not and the front struck the animal.

Wilson was not injured.

The Jim Thorpe police and fire departments are investigating a suspicious fire that was set next to the doors of a garage at the rear of 221 South Street at about 8 p.m. Monday. The fire was quickly extinguished by neighbors and there was minimal damage to the garage doors.

Police ask that anyone with information about the fire call them at (570) 325-4995. All calls will remain confidential.

State police at Fern Ridge are investigating a burglary at a Monroe County residence.

Troopers said the home of Michael J. Horstman, 3 Maple Lane, Brodheadsville, Chestnuthill Township, was entered by unknown criminals who pushed a small section of fiberglass door to release the latch. Once inside they removed a large amount of electrical wire and tools.

The incident occurred sometime between Oct. 26 at 7 a.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m.

Vehicle violation

Frank Maxwell Jr., 28, of 714 Mahoning Street, Lehighton, was cited for expired registration, driving under suspension, and required financial responsibility. The violations occurred on Oct. 28 at 5:11 p.m. on SR248 west.

A citation was issued to Mark Andrews, 18, of 380 Getz Dawl Road, Palmerton, for expired inspection. The violation occurred on Oct. 22 at 1:24 p.m. at Delaware Avenue and Third Street.

State police at Frackville are investigating two burglaries at two Schuylkill County locations.

Paesanos Auto, located at 809 W. Center St., West Mahanoy Township, was entered by forcing open a plywood window located on the north side of the building. Once inside the criminals rummaged through several drawers in the office area and attempted to pry open a safe located next to the office. They took a laptop computer before fleeing.

The incident occurred between 3 and 3:15 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 1. Troopers indicated two males were involved.

A Carbon County business has been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board.

2008 River Walck Saloon, LLC, 101 Centre St., Parryville, has been cited for used, or permitted to be used on the inside of the licensed premises, a loudspeaker or similar device whereby the sound of music or other entertainment, or the advertisement thereof, could be heard outside.

The alleged violations occurred on Sept. 18 and Oct. 1.
