A Schuylkill County minister was criticially injured when his moped crashed on a wet roadway on Saturday.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Rev. Daniel Bell, 49, of Schuylkill Haven, was operating a 2005 SYN HD200 moped northbound on SR61 in North Manheim Township, about 4:50 p.m. and negotiating a curve. Bell lost control on the wet road. The moped traveled onto the east berm and overturned. It spun clockwise where it came to rest facing north, troopers said.

Two area businesses have been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board for violation of the state liquor code.

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported a vehicle stop has led to drug charges being filed against the driver. The stop was made about 1:54 a.m. on Friday, April 15, along SR115 in Tunkhannock Township.

Police said Joseph Vitolo, 20, of Albrightsville, was stopped near the intersection wtih SR903 for a motor vehicle code violation. During the course of the stop Vitolo was found to be in possession of marijuana and prescription narcotics.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police said Isaiah Garcia, 27, of Tobyhanna, was committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility on April 11 after polilce responded to a domestic disturbance at 6:58 p.m. at A Pocono Countty Place.

Police said the development's security personnel beckoned them after Garcia and Maria Melendez, 28, of Tobyhanna, were involved in a domestic dispute. Police later learned Garcia was in violation of a Protection From Abuse order issued against him in Monroe County Court, taking him into custody resulting in incarceration.

State police at Schuylkill Haven are looking for three hit and run drivers involved in separate incidents at two locations in Schuylkill County.

Troopers said about 6:25 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12, Linda F. Schaeffer, 54, of Hegins, was driving a 2004 Chrysler 300 norhtbound on SR125 in Pine Grove Township, when a southbound vehicle sideswiped her vehicle.

After impact the other driver fled the scene.

Schaeffer was not injured.

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on the following arrests made by officers recently.

On April 7 about 11:56 p.m. officers were called to the Wal-Mart store in Mt. Pocono for a report of an intoxicated female in the store. Upon arrival officers found Jamie Dejesus, of Tobyhanna, intoxicated and belligerent. In the presence of the officers Dejesus began to kick and punch objects in the store while yelling and cursing loudly. As officers attempted to place her under arrest she attempted to kick the officers and resisted them.

Slatington police have reported the arrest of Calvin Alonzo White, 46, of 16 Fourth St., Apt. 4, Slatington, on charges of simple assault and harassment.

Police said the charges relate to a domestic incident at 6:25 a.m. April 11 at the the defendant's residence.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks are investigating a BB gun shooting incident that happened between 6:30 p.m. April 12 and 8 a.m. April 13 in Norweigan Township.

The victim is Robert Koch, 23, of Port Carbon.

He told police someone shot two BB pellets at his 2001 Dodge Dakota, resulting in two cracks in the front windshield.

The incident happened when the vehicle was parked at Zineas Car Care and Speed Shop along the Seltzer Highway.

Pocoo Mountain Regional Police report the arrest of George Murphy, 40, of Brooklyn, N.Y., on various charges, including being a fugitive from New York.

Police said they stopped the man while he was driving a vehicle on Rt. 940, having observed it traveling below the speed limit and in the wrong lane of traffic. Police said he was found to be in possession of multiple forms of identification and police were not able to verify his identity or driver's license information until his girlfriend provided his true name to officers.
