State police at Lehighton reported investigating a three-vehicle, rear-end crash about 4:49 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, along Old Route 115 in Ross Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Arthur F. Schwedler, 84, of Stroudsburg, driving a 1995 Lincoln Towncar, Tina M. Pokojni, 39, of Tannersville, driving a 2010 Chevrolet Avea LI, and Dawn M. Katz, 44, of Kunkletown, driving a 2004 Toyota Camry, were all northbound. Troopers said the front of Schwedler's car hit the rear of Pokojni's vehicle pushing it into Katz's car.

State police at Frackville are investigating a reported assault incident that occurred in the Schuylkill County borough of Girardville.

Troopers said Delton Bolton Jr., 26, of Girardville, reported he had a physical confrontation in the area of 246 W. Main St., about 4:55 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 11. He said four or five males "jumped" him at that location causing minor injuries.

Troopers said the altercation was apparently the result of an initial disturbance that occurred earlier in the evening at the Nowhere Saloon in the borough.

Jim Thorpe police are investigating a dog bite incident that was reported on Aug. 4 about 5:30 p.m.

Police said a female juvenile reported that while walking along the Switchback Trail, directly behind 200 South Ave., a yellow lab or similar type dog bit her on the leg causing an injury. Police did not indicate if the female required medical attention.

The dog was not located, police said. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call police at (570) 325-4995. Police said they have to ascertain vaccine and owner information for the animal.

The theft of a vehicle registration plate is being probed in Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Delroy Kleckner, 72, of New Ringgold, left his 2003 Dodge truck at Buy-Rite Motors, located along SR61 at Builtwell Ave., in North Manheim Township, on July 30 for service.

On Aug. 9 he noticed the registration plate, YXL1568, was missing.

A Slatington driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident in the borough.

Police said Tiffany Lloyd, 20, of 8715 Furance Rd., was stopped for a traffic violation about 8:28 p.m. on July 27 at W. Church and Dowell sts. She was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest.

She was transported to the Lehigh County DUI Center for a blood test that revealed a .19BAC. She also had in her possession drug paraphernalia, police added.

A Schuylkill County driver sustained minor injuries in a one vehicle crash that occurred about 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10, along SR54 in Ryan Township.

State police at Frackville said Rita Onorofsky, 57, of Mahanoy City, was driving a 2005 Dodge Stratus eastbound when she exited the road and her car crashed into a utility pole head-on.

Onrosfsky told troopers another vehicle was traveling westbound in her lane of travel and she swerved to avoid a collision.

State police at Fogelsville are investigating two missing shotguns from a Lehigh County club.

Troopers said two Remington model 870 shotguns were either stolen or misplaced from the Ontelaunee Rod & Gun Club, located at 8100 Gun Club Rd., in Lynn Township. The incident occurred sometime between June 11 and Aug. 6.

State police at Lehighton reported on several theft incidents probed by troopers.

On Monday, Aug. 8, about 2:13 p.m. troopers responded to the Colonial Auto Sales dealership at 620 Little Gap Road, in Palmerton, Lower Towamensing Township, for a theft from a vehicle report. An investigation revealed that three rental vehicles at the site had about 15 gallons of gasoline stolen from them. The criminals punctured fuel lines of the vehicles to get the gasoline. The incident occurred sometime between 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, and 10:30 a.m. on Monday.

Two Monroe County men have been jailed and are facing numerous counts of sexual assault involving young girls in separate incidents.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said James Francis Elliott Jr., 25, of Tobyhanna, was arrested on Monday, Aug. 8, on charges of criminal attempt to commit rape, unlawful contact with a minor, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, corruption of minors, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

State police at Lehighton are investigating the theft of a large quantity of copper wiring from a Carbon County business.

Troopers said the burglary and theft incidents occurred at Alliance Sand Company, located at 415 Golf Road, in Lower Towamensing Township.

Troopers said at 7:26 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, they were called to the business to a reported break-in. On scene troopers were told about 88 feet of copper wiring and assorted tools were stolen from the business sometime between 11 p.m. on Saturday, and Monday when they were called.
