A rabbit was blamed for a one vehicle crash that occurred about 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 30, in Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said a 17-year-old male from Pottsville, was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS southbound on Ann St. in Norwegian Township when he said he swerved to avoid a rabbit on the road. He lost control of the car which began to slide in a clockwise motion. The car went onto the west berm and traveled through a grassy area until coming to rest after striking a brush row of several small trees.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said charges of driving under the influence of alcohol are pending against Nikki A. Dohner, 34, of Schuylkill Haven, after an incident on Jan. 31 at 1:25 a.m.

Police said she was stopped on Rt. 61 in Schuylkill Haven Borough for depositing waste on the highway, after which time police found her to be in an intoxicated state.

A Summit Hill man was charged with terroristic threats after he challenged two men with a pistol.

According to Summit Hill police, on Dec. 23, 2011, at 12:45 p.m., officers received a call from the operators of a tow truck concerning an incident that was happening at Knepper's Trailer Court, Lot 7. The operators reported that David Corbett, 67, of the above address, allegedly threatened the operators and had a pistol with him.

He was charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, reckless endangering and harassment.

A Summit Hill man was charged after he assaulted a woman.

According to Summit Hill police, on Jan. 7, officers received that an assault had occurred. It was discovered that the party involved was Jeffrey Tee, 22, of 50 W. Ludlow St.

He was charged with simple assault and harassment.

A Summit Hill woman was charged after she caused a disturbance in Summit Hill.

According to borough police, on Jan. 7, at 12:39 p.m., police received a call for a disturbance on East Fell Street.

Upon arrival, they found Marie Caruso, 48, of 129 E. Fell St., at her residence. When officers repeatedly told her to stop causing a disturbance, she did not comply.

She was charged with persistent disorderly conduct and disorderly conduct.

A Summit Hill juvenile was charged after she caused a disturbance.

According to Summit Hill police, on Jan. 16, at 8 a.m., officers received a call for a disturbance in the units block of East Fell Street. The caller stated that they heard a lot of noice and cursing coming from a neighboring home. It was discovered a 17-year-old female was responsible.

She was charged with disorderly conduct.

State police at Lehighton reported on a driving under the influence (DUI) arrest in Carbon County.

Troopers said Patricia A. Desousa, 37, of Palmerton, was stopped about 12:08 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 29, along Little Gap Road, in Lower Towamensing Township, for traffic violations.

She was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest for DUI. Charges will be filed, troopers said.

A Summit Hill man was charged after he caused a disturbance.

According to Summit Hill police, on Jan. 14, at 1:30 a.m., police were called to the 300 block of West Fell Street for a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers observed Ricky Christman, 24, of 114 W. Fell St., outside the residence, causing a disturbance.

He was charged with disorderly conduct.

Two juveniles were charged after they stole money from the Summit Hill Borough Hall.

According to Summit Hill police, on Jan. 7, there were several youths cleaning the borough hall. During that time, a 17-year-old male from Lehighton took some money that was sitting on a desk. He was charged with theft by unlawful taking through juvenile authorities in Carbon County.

There was also a 15-year-old male from Jim Thorpe who had allegedly received some of that money. He was charged with receiving stolen property.

A Schuylkill County driver is facing charges after he fled the scene of a one-vehicle crash. State police at Frackville said the accident occurred about 11 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, along T820, or 56 Ferndale Road, in North Union Township.

Troopers said Jared Gebhart, 33, of Zion Grove, was driving a 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe eastbound when he drove off the south side of the road causing him to lose control. The vehicle spun counter-clockwise and struck a wooden utility pole with the right side. The vehicle then spun clockwise and came to rest on the road facing north.
