A 43-year-old male will be cited by state police at the Lehighton barracks with harassment after police were summoned on Dec. 19 at 5:25 p.m. to a disturbance at 7597 Ross Lane in Ross Township.

Police said the victim is a 39-year-old female. No names were released by police.

The report alleged the man grabbed the woman by the arm during an altercation.

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said John J. Silny, 19, of Jim Thorpe, was arrested after a two-vehicle crash Dec. 23 at 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Old Stage and Stony Mountain roads in Penn Forest Township.

Police said he was driving a 1998 Mercury Mystique west on Old Stage Road and was traveling too fast to negotiate a right curve. The vehicle went out of control and began to slide off the road.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said a Minersville woman was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop at 2:10 a.m. Dec. 26 at the intersection of Westwood Avenue and Westwood Road in Pottsville.

Police said charges are pending against Jennifer N. Seladones, 24.

Police said she was observed committing a traffic violation, after which time police made the traffic stop and learned she was under the influence of alcohol.

The charges are pending result of chemical testing, police said.

A Schuylkill County man was uninjured in an accident that occurred around 10:57 a.m. Dec.17.

Schuylkill Haven Police said Haley G. Sippel, 18, of Friedensburg, was traveling east on Panther Valley Road in North Manheim Township, Schuylkill County, when the collision occurred as Sippel was exiting a left curve and lost control of his 2001 Oldsmobile Alero.

The vehicle struck an embankment with its right front corner bumper and began to spin clockwise. The vehicle came to rest facing southeast after it sustained damage to the front two front tires and left rear tire.

A burglary that happened between Aug. 15 and Dec. 10 in Towamensing Township is being investigated by state police at the Lehighton barracks.

The victim is PNC Mortgage, 8655 Interchange Road, Lehighton.

Police said someone forced their way into the premises with an unknown tool and once inside stole copper pipe before fleeing the scene at the point of entry.

State police at the Lehighton barracks are investigating the theft of a registration plate in the Eldo Lakes development, Polk Township, Monroe County.

The incident was reported to have happened on Dec. 4.

The victim is a 53-year-old male. Police said he notices the plate was removed from a trailer at his property. The plate bears the registration XFR-7822.

Christine M. Powers, 22, of Albrightsville, sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash Dec. 23 at 6:38 a.m. on Stony Mountain Road in Penn Forest Township.

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said she was driving a 2007 Kia Rondo northbound when she failed to negotiate a right curve in the roadway. The vehicle traveled into the woods and struck a tree before coming to rest.

The West End Ambulance responded.

Police said the driver will be cited as a result of the crash.

James R. Adkins, 40, of Indianapolis, Ind., was committed to the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville following his arraignment on Dec. 26 after an incident in Cressona.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said he was charged with terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment after the incident at 10:13 p.m. at 161 Railroad Street.

Police said the victim is Laura M. Adkins, 38, of Cressona.

State police at the Frackville barracks said Matthew P. McTiernan, 23, of Frackville, sustained moderate injuries in a one-vehicle crash Dec. 19 at 1 a.m. on Ridge Road in Union Township, Schuylkill County.

Police said he was transported to the Pottsville Hospital in a private vehicle.

He was driving a 2003 Jeep Liberty south on Ridge Road and was rounding a curve when he was distracted with his car radio. The vehicle left the roadway, traveled into a wooded area along the west side of the road and struck a large rock and tree before coming to rest.

State police at the Frackville barracks are trying to locate Stephenie Knorr, 23, of Frackville, for whom a felony warrant exists as a result of a shoplifting incident that happened at the Sears store in the Schuylkill Mall, New Castle Township.

Police said the incident happened at 3:15 Dec. 1, after Knorr removed various items for sale from the store. She was confronted by the store's loss prevention personnel, although Knorr was able to get to her vehicle and flee the scene.
