An elderly Schuylkill County driver was flown to a Lehigh Valley area hospital following a crash that involved a car and dump truck. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the crash occurred about 11:54 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the intersection of SR61 and Mall Road, in Norwegian Township.

A driver received a minor injury in a one vehcile crash that occurred about 8:49 a.m. on Nov. 14 along Pheasant Run Road in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

State police at Fern Ridge said Megan A. Hill, 24, of Kunkletown, failed to negotiate a curve with her 2000 Nissan Xterra leaving the road and hitting an embankment.

Troopers said Hill was cited for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.

State police at Fern Ridge are investigating a theft that occurred at a Monroe County pub.

Jefferson Allie, 23, of Albrightsville, reported his Iphone was stolen while he was dining with friends at the Route 714 Pub in Jackson Township. The incident occurred sometime between 8:30 and 11 p.m. on Nov. 9, troopers said.

A Monroe County dog owner has been cited after his dog allegedly bit a person causing a severe injury.

State police at Fern Ridge said Seth Michael Gillen, 30, of Effort, was bitten on the hand by a lab/Rottwiler mix along Lakeside Road, in Effort, Chestnuthill Township, on Nov. 14 about 1:30 p.m. The bite caused a severe injury, troopers said.

The dog owner, William P. Knibbs, 61, of Effort, was arrested for confinement of dogs and harboring a dangerous dog, troopers said.

A Schuylkill County driver was seriously injured in a one vehicle crash that was reported about 6:23 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17, along Bunting Street (SR209), in Branch Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Montgomery L. Maser, 51, of Branchdale, was driving a 1992 Chevrolet Lumina westbound when the car went onto the berm and struck guard rail. The car then crossed over the westbound lane while spinning counter-clockwise 180 degrees into the eastbound lane. The car then crashed into a tree at 1370 Bunting St.

State police at Fern Ridge are investigating the theft of 80 stainless steel tapered storage baskets from a Monroe County site.

Troopers said the baskets were removed from the property of Fuller's Fabrications, located along SR115 and Marion Lane, in Brodheadsville, Chestnuthill Township. The baskets were stored outside on a pavement near the front garage door. The baskets are 19-inches long, 9.5 inches wide and 5 inches high. Alexander Fuller, 67, of Minisink Hills, is the owner.

A fire that destroyed a barn in the New Ringgold area of Schuylkill County has been ruled an arson.

State police at Frackville said a fire on Nov. 16 at 2:34 a.m. on the James A. Birdsall property at 51 Arrow Road, East Brunswick Townsihp, was intentionally set. The fire destroyed the barn, farm implements stored in it and a silage. Damages were estimated at $15,000.

Fire marshal Trooper J.F. Burns said New Ringgold fire officials assisted him in the investigation.

Burns asks anyone with information concerning the fire to call the barracks at (570) 874-5300.

A traffic stop in Monroe County has led to drug charges against the driver.

Pocono Mountain Regional police officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic code violation about 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, along SR196 at Echo Lake Road, in Coolbaugh Township.

The driver was identified as Michael Carey, 30, of East Stroudsburg. Officers detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and observed several large zip lock bags of marijuana lying on the floor.

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported an arrest for retail theft.

About 11:46 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 14, officers responded to the Walmart store in Mt. Pocono for a report of a person caught shoplifting. Officers said Ivette Guzman, 58, of Tobyhanna, was in the custody of store security.

She was found to have several items on her and attempted to leave the store without paying for them. She was charged and released, police said.

A Monroe County domestic incident has led to an arrest.

Pocono Mountain Regional police were dispatched to Winner Chinese Restaurant, in the Pocono Summit Plaza, about 9:51 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, to a reported domestic dispute.

On scene officers spoke to a person who identified himself as Carey Player. Further investigation revealed that the man was actually Stephen Player, 35, of Tobyhanna. Player was placed under arrest for false indentification to law enforcement and also on a active domestic relations warrant for his arrest.
