State police at Lehighton reported on the results of roving DUI patrols conducted over the past holiday weekend.

A total of 11 motorists were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance during the operation. In addition, eight motorists were drinking but released after passing field sobriety tests. A total of 53 citations were issued. Also, three motoritsts were arrested for being in possession of a controlled substance.

A Schuylkill County man was killed when his pickup truck left a county road and crashed into a tree.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said John Webb Jr., 22, of Pine Grove, was driving a 1999 Dodge Dakota westbound on Wild Cherry Road, in the area of the Manbeck's Zion Evangelical Church, Washington Township, about 1:05 a.m. at a high rate of speed.

A theft report is being probed by state police at Frackville.

Troopers said Diana Marie Dankulich, 47, of 337 Valley St., Brockton, Schuylkill Township, reported that someone took two of her prescriptions – Xanax and Percocet – from her home. She also said a rifle was taken from the house. Dankulich could not provide any details about the rifle.

The thefts occurred sometime between 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 18, and 1:42 p.m. on Nov. 19. Troopers said Dankulich was home during the time the thefts occurred.

A Schuylkill County woman died when her car crashed into a vacant home on Friday. State police at Frackville said the accident occurred about 1:20 p.m. along Main St. in Gilberton borough.

Troopers said Denise Blashock, 58, of Ashland, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Impala eastbound and entering the west end of the borough at an extremely high rate of speed.

As she negotiated a right curve, Blashock lost control of the car which began to rotate slightly clockwise. The car traveled into the oncoming lane before crossing back into the eastbound lane.

State police at Fogelsville reported on two crashes along Lehigh County roads recently investigated by troopers.

A one-vehicle crash occurred about 5:20 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, along Interstate 78 in Upper Saucon Township. Troopers said Francis J. Nardone, 53, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2012 Hyundai Sonata eastbound when a deer entered the road in front of him. Nardone was unable to avoid the deer and struck it with the front end of the Sonata.

Nardone was not injured but the Sonata had to be towed from the scene.

State police at Fogelsville are investigating an incident of animal cruelty.

Troopers said about 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, they were called to an area off Quarry Road and in the vicinity of Lower Macungie Park, Lower Macungie Township, for suspected animal abuse.

On scene troopers found 11 deceased juvenile dogs along the side of the road. The dogs had their fur removed and some were partially inside a plastic bag.

State police at Frackville are investigating a burglary at a store in the Schuylkill Mall, New Castle Township.

Troopers said forcible entry was made to the Black Diamond Antiques store sometime between 9:15 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, and 7:15 a.m. on Saturday.

Once inside the criminals smashed a display case and removed gold and silver coins. No value was listed for the missing items.

State police at Frackville are looking for a hit-and-run driver involved in a crash that occurred about 9:25 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, along the 100 block of W. Main St., in Girardville.

Troopers said a 2002 Hyundai Elantra sedan was driven eastbound at a high rate of speed when, for unknown reasons, it swerved out of its lane of travel on the right side. The Elantra struck a parked 1993 Ford van, which was on the shoulder of the road.

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred Saturday, Nov. 24, along SR309, a quarter-mile south of Ben Titus Road, in Rush Township.

State police at Frackville said Tara Shuey, 31, of Tamaqua, was stopped for a traffic violation.

At the stop Shuey was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest.

She was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for a blood test.

The DUI charge is pending the test results.

State police at Schuylkill Haven are seeking the owner of a bicycle that was found recently.

Troopers said a Mongoose bicycle, with four red pegs and red pedals, was found at Lot 74, on Tanglewood Road, in the Pine Brook development, in West Brunswick Township.

The bike was found about 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24,

The owner can claim it by calling the barracks at (570) 593-2000, and providing proper identification.
