A Delaware County resident has been charged with disorderly conduct for an incident in Kidder Township.

Township police said Marshall Zhang, 22, of Chadds Ford, was cited about 8:52 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, at Split Rock Resort near the sport complex.

A Hazleton area bank was robbed by a lone white male on Monday.

State police at Hazleton said the male entered the PNC branch office, located along Susquehanna Blvd. (SR930), in Hazle Township, about 9:24 a.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money. No weapon was displayed and no injuries reported.

The suspect then fled the bank traveling through a wooded area located to the rear of the bank. He then fled in a brown in color four-door sedan, which was parked along Providence Road. He was last seen traveling on SR309 south into Hazleton.

A one vehicle crash was reported about 7 p.m. on Monday, April 17, along Wildcat Road in Walker Township, near Tamaqua.

State police at Frackville said a 17-year-old male from New Ringgold was operating a 2002 Chrysler Sebring southbound and negotiating a left curve when he said another vehicle entered his lane of travel.

The teen swerved his car off the road and onto the west berm. In attempting to re-enter the road the teen lost control by overcompensating, troopers said. The car then skidded through the northbound lane and struck an embankment with its front end.

A Luzerne County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident in Kidder Township, Carbon County.

Township police said Scott Cousins, 28, of White Haven, was found sleeping in his vehicle in the travel lanes of Interstate 81 eastbound about 2:52 a.m. on Saturday, April 14. He was taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test.

The DUI charge is pending the test results, police said.

Kidder Township police reported on numerous citations issued by officers.

Speeding arrests included: On April 5, at SR903 and Lake Drive, Robert Eder, 41, of Blakeslee, cited for traveling 70.1 miles-per-hour in a 55 zone; William Dougherty, 26, of Summit HIll, 70.1 in 55 zone; and Judith Franks, 54, of Jim Thorpe, 67.6 in the 55 zone.

On the same date David Jones, 45, of Scranton, was cited for making a right turn on red where prohibited at intersection of state routes 903 and 534.

State police at Frackville are investigating the theft of a bicycle in Schuylkill County.

Troopers said the Mongoose bike was removed from the driveway at 58 N. Bridge St., Ringtown, sometime between 6:30 and 7:20 p.m. on Sunday, April 15. The bike is green in color and valued at $130. The listed victim is a 14-year-old male from Ringtown.

A Luzerne County man was cited for public drunkenness.

State police at Fern Ridge said John P. Kauffman, 57, of Freeland, was cited about 4:13 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, along SR534 in Monroe County.

Two teens were cited for an incident at the Schuylkill Mall in New Castle Township.

State police at Frackville said they responded to the mall about 8:20 p.m. on Friday, April 13, for an incident of criminal trespass. On scene troopers were told by mall security that they ordered two male teens, both 16 and from Ringtown, to vacate the mall.

The two left but then returned and caused a disturbance in the Kmart store.

The two were arrested and charged with criminal trespass.

A Tamaqua man faces charges following a traffic stop in the borough on March 29.

Officer Dane O'Brien was on patrol at 6 p.m. when he made a traffic stop in the 200 block of Market Street. The vehicle was being operated by Andrew Bensinger, 25, of 125 Penn St., Tamaqua.

Charges to be filed include operating a vehicle with an ineffective exhaust suppression system, possession of a controlled substance and operating a vehicle without an official inspection sticker.

State police at Frackville reported investigating a one-vehicle crash about 10:15 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, outside Tamaqua in Walker Township.

Troopers said a 16-year-old male from New Ringgold was operating a 2003 Ford Escape southbound on Reynolds Road when he failed to negotiate a left hand curve. The car went onto the west shoulder and traveled about 50 feet sideways into a wooded area where it struck a tree.

The teen was not injured but damages to the vehicle were disabling, troopers said.
