Nesquehoning police have arrested an inmate at the Carbon County Correctional Facillity in that borough with the assault of a correctional officer.

Police said Steven White, 19, has been charged with aggravated assault by a prisoner.

Nesquehoning police have arrested Russell L. Bahrey III, 35, of Hatfield, Pa., for drug-related charges stemming from an incident whereby he was transported to the Carbon County Correctional Facility in the borough and found to be in possession of marijuana.

Police said Bahrey was arrested on Dec. 3 at 5:40 p.m. by Beaver Meadows police, who picked the man up upon learning he was wanted on an outstanding bench warrant. Upon being searched at the prison, Bahrey was found to be in possession of a baggie that contained marijuana.

State police at the Frackville barracks are investigating a burglary that happened between 9 a.m. Dec. 24 and 9:30 a.m. Dec. 28 at a cabin owned by the Wildcat Gun Club, 137 Wildcat Road, Walker Township.

Police said someone entered the cabin by forcing open a door on the south side of the building. Once inside, the actor(s) removed two beige-colored kerosene heaters, a blue 1,000-watt generator, two steel pool pumps, about 8-10 garbage bags of crushed aluminum cans, a 2-1/2-gallong clear fuel can, various lengths of electrical wire and an aluminum roof antenna.

State police at the Fogelsville barracks are investigating a criminal mischief incident that happened between Dec. 25-29 at a home in Weisenberg Township.

The victim is a 57-year-old male who resides at 3259 Shale Head Road, New Tripoli.

Police said someone shot the front door witha pellet gun, causing the glass on it to crack.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police have arrested Alex Vigo, 32, of Long Pond, for driving under the influence.

Police said the arrest was made after a stop for a Vehicle Code violation on Dec. 28 on Rt. 196 in Coolbaugh Township.

Police said officers detected the odor of burned marijuana emanating from the vehicle in which Vigo was the operator. Police said he failed field sobriety tests and was arrested and transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood analysis.

Lehighton Borough police report four persons were cited recently for separate violations.

John D. Mertz, 19, of 168 Swiss View Road, Lehighton, was cited for disorderly conduct after stealing a speed limit sign at the intersection of Bridge and East Bridge streets on Nov. 24 at 1:37 a.m.

Lisa Fritz, 28, of 81 Spring St., Lehighton, was cited for disorderly conduct after making unreasonable noise and using obscene language on Dec. 7 at 8;10 a.m. at the Mahoning Inn.

Jason Rodriguez, 22, of Shenandoah, has been arrested by state police at the Frackville barracks on a charge of harassment following an incident at 6:25 p.m. Dec. 28 in Girardville.

Police said it is alleged he physically assaulted William Hiester, 21, of Ogden Street, inside the victim's residence.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks are investigating the discovery of 13 "potential tombstones" at a site in East Norweigan Township, Schuylkill County.

Police said they were found within the patrol area of the barracks at 9:07 a.m. Dec. 28.

Out of the 13 stones, six of them have been transcribed as follows:

Robert D. Phelcer, 1875-1951; Frank 1866-1910; Loretta A. Buries, 1900-1945; Harry J. Johnson, 1887-1924; Mary A. Rote, 1888-1933; and William E. Gramley, 1886-1948.

Police said as the other stones are transcribed, the names will be produced.

If you know anyone who came home on Wednesday with a blue plastic trash barrel, it may have been stolen.

Such a barrel blew onto the Gordon Nagle Trail between 8:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, and its owner believes a passing motorist made away with it.

The barrel belongs at 76 North Sillyman Street, Cressona.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call state police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks at (570) 593-2000.

Katelyn P. Schimpf, 22, of Schuylkill Haven, sustained moderate injuries in a one-vehicle crash on Dec. 29 at 12:51 a.m. on Route 61 in East Norweigan Township, Schuylkill County, according to state police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks.

Police said she was driving a 2003 Jeep Liberty southbound when the vehicle traveled into the median and struck an impact attenuator with its left front. The vehicle then spun counter-clockwise and rolled onto its right side, coming to rest facing west.

Police said the woman will be cited as a result of the crash.
