A driver was injured in a one vehicle crash that occurred about 11:14 p.m. on Dec. 9 along Knob Road at James Court, in Mt. Pocono.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said Emily Cundiff, 19, lost control of her vehicle while rounding a curve. The car went off the road and struck a pole head-on. Cundiff was injured and was transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for treatment.

State police at Frackville reported on two crashes probed along Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County on Sunday, Dec. 12.

The first crash occurred just after midnight in Mahanoy Township. Troopers said Warren C. Boyes, 57, of Peachtree City, Ga., was driving a 1997 BMW Z23 northbound when he lost control on the ice-covered road. The car went onto the east berm and struck an embankment with the front end. It then rolled over onto its roof and came to rest along the berm.

A Monroe County teen is facing multiple charges of burglary and theft.

State police at Lehighton said Zekiah Ben Harsch, 18, of Saylorsburg, was arrested overnight of Sunday, Dec. 12, and Monday. Troopers said Harsch was stopped by troopers from the Swiftwater barracks operating a stolen motor bike. He attempted to flee troopers but crashed the bike and was taken into custody.

He is charged with burglary, theft from vehicles and the theft of three motorcycles, one of which he was riding when caught. The incidents occurred in the area of Mt. Eaton Road in Ross Township.

A Monroe County man is facing a charge of bad check.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said Juan L. Sanabria, 56, of Mt. Pcoono, was arrested for writing a check for $4,167.86 to Special Auto Services, of Mt. Pocono, which was returned for insufficient funds.

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on two crashes investigated by troopers on Schuylkill County roadways over the past weekend.

A one vehicle accident occurred about 7:03 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10, along SR501 in Pine Grove Township. Troopers said Philip A. Hamilton, 40, of Hegins, was driving a 2007 Toyota Yaris northbound when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle slide off the road and struck a guide rail along the east berm. After impact the car became airborne and flipped over and down an embankment striking several small trees. It came to rest on its passenger side.

A Slatington teen is facing a drug charge following an incident that occurred about 8:33 p.m. on Nov. 15 in the borough.

Police said Paige A. Mohrey, 18, of 2822 Welshtown Rd., was an occupant of a suspicious vehicle observed parked along N. Seventh St., in the area of the Slate House.

She was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and was charged with that offense, police said.

A Philadelphia man is being sought by law enforcement officials in Monroe County for theft of a vehicle and credit card.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said Michael J. Romano, 23, is being sought for an incident that occurred on Dec. 3. According to police Romano was staying at a residence along Littly Billy Lane, in Tobyhanna, when he allegedly stole the credit card and vehicle of Linda Johnson, 64, of Tobyhanna.

A Northumberland County driver is facing multiple charges following a crash in Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Julius C. Demetrius V, 20, of Kulpmont, was driving a 1987 Mercedes-Benz 300 series southbound on SR61, just north of Red Church Rd., in West Brunswick Township, about 5 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 12, while it was raining. The rear tires had poor tread, troopers noted.

A collision between two vehicles occurred Wednesday, Dec. 8, at 9 p.m. on SR903 in Penn Forest Township, according to state policee at Lehighton.

A 1999 Subaru Legacy, operated by Alejandro P. Portillo, 53, of Jim Thorpe, attempted to make a left turn into the parking lot of the Shell Gas Station. At that time, he turned into the path of a 1997 Jeep Wrangler operated by Michael T. Alderfer, 16, of Sarasota, Fla. causing impact to the left quarterpanel.

A Schuylkill County man was cited for retail theft at a store in the Schuylkill Mall, New Castle Township.

State police at Frackville said Duane Harold Maurer, 47, of Ashland, was cited about 6:15 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10, at the Sears store. He allegedly was observed by store security forcibly opening a plastic display package, removing a HDMI cord valued at $29.99, and placing it in a separate bag and discarding the packaging.

He was issued a citation and then released.
