A Schuylkill County driver is facing charges, including hit-and-run, according to state police at Frackville.

Troopers said Cordero S. Labella, 24, of Mahanoy City, driving a 1992 Eagle Talon, stopped at the intersection of Walnut and Wyoming sts., in Schuylkill Township, about 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 26. Troopers said the Talon's engine stalled and the vehicle drifted backward into a home on Walnut St. and a parked 2002 Dodge Neon.

Labella then fled the scene, troopers said.

He will be charged with several motor vehicle code violations, troopers added.

A Tamaqua woman was cited by police last Monday after she was found walking along SR209 in a highly intoxicated state.

Tamaqua police were dispatched to the roadway at 8:32 p.m. for a reported pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the vicinity of the former Jamesway Plaza. On scene they found Roxanne Counterman, 38, of 115 Coal St., being propped up against the guide rail by a younger woman.

Counterman had not been struck by a vehicle but had exited a car driven by the younger woman and was refusing to get back inside insisting she wanted to walk.

A Schuylkill County teen was struck by a vehicle, did not immediately report the incident, and claims the driver fled the scene. State police at Frackville said the incident occurred between 11:15 and 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, along Raven Run Road, near the SR54 intersection, in West Mahanoy Township.

Troopers said Adam Jevelle, 18, of Ringtown, said he was at the above stated location to meet a friend and was walking across the road when a vehicle struck him and the driver failed to stop.

Two women were recently cited by Tamaqua police after they individually passed bad checks at Shafer's Pharmacy, 11 Center St.

Andrea Joy Chando, 32, of 303 Mulberry St., Tuscarora, issued check number 218 to the pharmacy on Aug. 31 in the amount of $24.99.

The check was returned marked as "insufficient funds."

Jeanette Lynn Hadesty, 30, of 362 W. Kline Ave., Lansford, issued check number 1041, in the amount of $169.45, to the pharmacy. The check was returned marked as "insufficient funds."

Citations for bad checks were issued on Nov. 30.

A large quantity of lottery tickets was reported stolen in a Carbon County burglary.

State police at Lehighton said the incident occurred at the Sunoco Food Mart at 7435 Interchange Rd., Towamensing Township.

The state Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement has charged two East Stroudsburg establishments with violating the law.

JPJO LLC, of 5005 Poole Rd., Smithfield Township, issued checks or drafts in payment for purchases of malt or brewed beverages when they had insufficient funds in or credit with, the institution from which the checks or drafts were drawn.

Neip's Inc. (Shorty's Place), 59-63 Crystal St., sold alcoholic beverages after their hotel liquor license expired on Sept. 30.

Tamaqua police have filed charges against David Glaser, 41, of 7495 Camp Meeting Rd., New Tripoli, after receiving a report concerning a reckless driver on Nov. 25. The caller indicated the suspect vehicle was headed north on SR309 at 7:45 p.m.

Officers stopped the gold Chevrolet sedan after the operator entered the right turn lane at Center and Cedar streets, then proceeded to turn in front of the squad car and continue northbound. The vehicle was stopped on Mauch Chunk Street and the driver was identified as Glaser, who was given and failed field sobriety tests.

Terroristic threats

Criminal charges were filed against Michael Muniz, 36, of 897 Mauch Chunk Road, Palmerton, for terroristic threats. The incident occurred on Oct. 14 at 4:26 p.m. in the 800 block of Mauch Chunk Road.

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Criminal charges were filed against Jason Hein, 28, of 222 N Seventh Street, Allentown, for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The incident occurred on Nov. 16 at 12:27 p.m. in the 400 block of State Road.

Retail theft

State police at Frackville are probing a theft incident in Schuylkill County.

Troopers said unknown criminals entered the property of Curtis L. Vanblargan, 66, of Shenandoah, and located at 518 Miller's Road, in North Union Township, and removed a steel antique potato plow and several other pieces of steel. The pieces of the plow were later recovered at Sorin's Scrap Yard, in Shenandoah. The incident occurred sometime between Nov. 28-30.

A Coaldale woman has been cited by Tamaqua police after she allegedly caused a problem for her ex-husband and his friend.

Jonathan Fortin, 25, of 419 W. Rowe St., and Brittany Marley, 21, of 423 W. Broad St., both of Tamaqua, reported the incident to police at 2:25 a.m. on Nov. 27. They reportedly were dancing at the Citizen's Fire Comapny, Rowe Street, when Stacy Fortin, 32, of 107 E. Moser Ave., approached them and dumped a drink on Marley, then began punching the victim in the face. When Fortin tried to intervene he was also punched in the face by his ex-wife.
