A 15-year-old female from Summit Hill was charged after she defaced school property.

According to Summit Hill police, on June 21, at 12:39 p.m., police received a report from Panther Valley Middle School that a female student was seen defacing school property.

She was charged with institutional vandalism, defacing school property, and criminal mischief.

Jared Dotter of Kunkletown is facing charges of criminal trespass adn possession of drug paraphernalia as a result of an incident at 11:35 p.m. July 29 in Weissport.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said the incident happened at Weissport Beverage, 434 White St.

Police said Dotter entered the property and approached the rear door, after which time he was confronted by the owner of the business. Police said Dotter fled on foot and was apprehended on Franklin Street a short time after the incident took place.

A Monroe County woman has been cited for retail theft.

State police at Fern Ridge said troopers were called to Kinsley's Shop Rite, located along SR209 in Chestnuthill Township, about 12:31 p.m. on July 26 for a reported of a theft.

On scene troopers said Gina Zimbardo, 46, of Gilbert, was in custody by store personnel. She allegedly took $33.86 worth of merchandise and placed them in her purse and did not pay for them while paying for other items.

A Summit Hill man was cited after he threatened a neighbor.

According to Summit Hill police, on July 19, at 9:11 p.m., police received a report of an individual causing a disturbance with a dirt bike. The caller also said that when he approached the driver, identified as Ryan Filer, 25, of 30 W. Holland St., Apt. 7. Filer threatened him.

Filer was charged with disorderly conduct, harassment, and two traffic violations.

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a tire-slashing incident in Schuylkill County.

Troopers said two parked vehicles along Blue Mountain Road near SR61, in Port Clinton, had their tires slashed. The incident was reported at 8 p.m. on Monday, July 30.

The 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse of Kevin J. Bucha, 19, of Emmaus, and the 2010 Toyota Camry of Daisy P. Cortez, 23, of Reading, were slashed. Damages were estimated at $450 for the Eclipse and $800 for the Camry.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at (570) 593-2000.

Two men are facing theft and related counts for an incident in Lehighton in which credit cards were stolen.

Borough police said Steven Fisher, 22, of 430 White St., Weissport, and Scott Brickler, 34, of 113 Bonnie Drive, Dalton, Lackawanna County, were arrested for an incident that occurred on July 9.

Fisher has been charged with theft from a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, access device fraud, and criminal conspiracy to commit access device fraud. Brickler was charged with forgery and access device fraud.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said a good samaritan who found a wallet has turned it in for the owner to be located.

The incident happened at 10:14 a.m. July 27 at Kingswood Lake, Eldred Township.

Police are asking anyone who may have lost their wallet, or had one stolen from them, to contact them at 610-377-4270.

State police at Fern Ridge reported on three crashes investigated by troopers, all occurring in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

A one vehicle crash occurred about 6:50 a.m. on July 26 along SR209. Troopers said Joseph M. Marino, 18, of Effort, was driving a 2003 Jeep northbound when he drove off the east shoulder and struck a utility pole.

A Lansford man is in trouble after police were called to a residence for a domestic dispute.

According to Summit Hill police, on June 22, at 9:32 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in Summit Hill for a domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival they talked with the victim, who reported that James Mehefko, 43, of 343 W. Bertsch St., assaulted her.

Police took Mehefko into custody for the assault.

During a pat down search officers discovered a metal pipe that is used to ingest drugs.

State police at the Lehighton barracks are investigating a burglary/criminal mischief incident that was reported to them at 1:30 a.m. July 29.

The incident happened at 58 Primrose Lane, Penn Forest Township. The victims are James C. Sr. and Barbara Jean Burns.

Police said they reported somone attempted to break into their residence by kicking in the front door. Police said no entry was made and the damages were limited to the door.
