Lehighton police reported on several recent arrests.

Arthur L. Evans, 40, of 103 Gypsy Hill Gardens, Lehighton, was cited for harassment resulting from making unwanted physical contact with a female. The incident occurred at the Gypsy Hill Gardens building five, on Thursday, May 24, at 10:50 a.m.

Timothy Tappan, 53, of 100 Beaver St., Lehighton, was charged with issuing a bad check for $991.89 to Quality Plumbing. The check was returned due to insufficient funds.

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating three burglaries and theft incidents at Schuylkill County locations.

Troopers said a burglary occurred at the Manbeck Zion E.C. Church, located at 110 Wild Cherry Rd., in Washington Township. Entry was gained to the basement of the church through unlocked doors to the rear. Once inside about 100-feet of copper piping an inch and one quarter in size was removed. The piping was used for the heating system. The scrap value of the copper was estimated at between $400 and $500. The incident occurred sometime between May 20-25.

A Schuylkill County man is facing a charge of theft.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Jared Stessalavage, of Orwigsburg, backed his vehicle into a wooded area behind Moyer's Service Station, Wayne Township.

Troopers allege that Stessalavage began loading numerous pieces of scrap metal, steel, and an old snowplow into the back of his vehicle without the permission of the owner.

The incident occurred about 9 a.m. on May 15, troopers said. He was charged with theft and receiving stolen property.

Nesquehoning police reported on traffic citations being issued by officers.

A speeding ticket was issued at state routes 209 and 93 for 50 miles-per-hour in a 40 zone; also, three at 209 and Oak Street, with speeds of 39, 43 and 44 in a 25 zone.

Kenneth Diaz, 208 W. High St., Nesquehoning, was cited for driving under suspension at SR209 and Oak Street. Police added that there was multiple warnings issued for other infractions.

State police at Frackville are investigating an assault incident.

Troopers said Gregory Wilson, 22, of Girardville, was assaulted in the 200 block of B Street, in Girardville, about 4:10 p.m. on Monday, May 28. He was taken to a Pottsville hospital for treatment of injuries.

A Schuylkill County man was jailed on charges of assault and threats.

State police at Frackville said on Wednesday, May 23, about 5:30 p.m. along Interstate 81 in Delano Township, Patricia Mistishin and Christopher John Cuozzo, both of Port Carbon, became involved in a physical altercation. During the altercation it is alleged that Cuozzo struck and choked Mistishin and pulled out a knife and threatened to kill her.

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a two-vehicle crash about 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, at the intersection of North West Lawn Road and SR4004, in Branch Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said Lillian C. Drayer, 80, of Hummelstown, Dauphin County, was southbound on North West Lawn Road and stopped at the intersection. She then pulled into the intersection where the front of her 2009 Toyota Camry struck the passenger side front of a 2004 Lexus 330 driven by Bernadette M. Bremer, 64, of Minersville, who was westbound on 4004.

Amanda Messsinger, 22, and Todd Messinger, 25, both of 172 Creekside Manor, Lehighton, are facing one count each of simple assault and harassment following an incident that took place at 714 Mahoning St., on May 6.

Lehighton police said a verbal and physical altercation occurred at the above stated location and time in which it is alleged that Amanda Messinger punched a 53-year-old female in the face and Todd Messinger punched a 24-year-old male in the face.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said a Monroe County woman has been jailed on several counts including prescription fraud.

Police said on May 3 about 2 p.m. they received a report from employees of the Blakeslee Pharmacy about prescription fraud.

Police allege that Michele Szumera, 48, of Canadensis, called in a prescription for 30 oxycodone tablets. She later arrived at the pharmacy to obtain the tablets.

A Lebanon County driver was cited following a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 10:55 p.m. on Friday, May 25, along SR895 in East Brunswick Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Genale M. Smith, 42, of Jonestown, was driving a 2001 Jeep Wrangler eastbound when she fell asleep at the wheel causing her to lose control.

The Jeep went onto the south shoulder where it struck the guiderail, then rolled over onto the driver's side. The Jeep came to rest in a field.
