A Nesquehoning man has been charged by Rush Township police after allegedly stealing from his employer.

Michael E. Ruckhardt, 31, reportedly removed a wallet and check from his employer's vehicle on Aug. 24. He then allegedly forged his boss' name and wrote a check, made payable to himself, in the amount of $2,300.

He was charged with felony counts of forgery, theft by deception, and receiving stolen property.

Barry Schlier, 31, of 14 W. Bertsch St., Lansford, faces charges from an incident which took place on April 2. Charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property were filed by Officer Brian Horos.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, here's what happened:

At 2:10 p.m., April 2, Horos received a dispatch about a theft at 343 W. Abbott St. He arrived and was greeted by property owners Monique Orr and Merissa Zielinski. They said they had rented the house to Schlier and his paramour, Dana Lincovich, from May 1, 2011 to March 2012.

Rush Township police are investigating a theft reported to the department concerning the Mazakas Coal Company. Someone reportedly entered the property and removed numerous items, including tools and fuel.

A Tamaqua man was cited, again, for allowing his dogs to cause a disturbance.

Steven Llewellyn, of 317 Owl Creek Rd., was cited under the borough's dog control ordinance. The incident took place on Aug. 24.

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on the following arrests.

On Fricay, Sept. 21, about 12:02 a.m. officers were dispatched to 2162 Freedom Way, Coolbaugh Township, for a report of a domestic incident. On scene officers discovered Kamarl K. Hargrove, 27, of Tobyhanna. He was at the residence of his ex-girlfriend. The woman told officers she had a protection from abuse (PFA) order which stated he could not be at the residence.

He was taken into custody and charged with violating the order and placed in the county prison in Snydersville pending arraignment.

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) after she crashed her vehicle while allegedly texting and being under the influence.

State police at Frackville said Monica Weikel, 23, of Lavelle, was operating a 2002 Ford Escape eastbound on SR54 (Mt. Olive Blvd.), in West Mahanoy Township, about 12:55 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25. She allegedly was texting while driving, troopers said.

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on two domestic incidents in which arrests were made.

On Sept. 19 about 10:37 p.m. police responded to 29 Holly Forest Road, in Mount Pocono, for a reported physical domestic incident.

On scene officers spoke with Katie Brown, 20. She was observed to have several injuries to her face.

She told officers that Tywain Preston, 19, of Mount Pocono, had attacked her. Brown was taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for treatment.

State police at Frackville are investigating the theft of scrap metal from a Schuylkill County site.

Troopers said the metal was taken from a construction site off Moss Glen Road, in Schuylkill Township. Taken was eight iron excavator body panels and two iron screens. The items are the property of M&J Excavation, of Bloomsburg.

The theft occurred sometime between Sept. 21 and 25, troopers said. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at (570) 874-5300.

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a five-vehicle, rear-end crash along SR61 in North Manheim Township, Schuylkill County, that occurred about 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26.

Troopers identified the drivers and vehicles as follows: Bernard A. Zaremba, 48, of Frackville, 2012 Toyota Camry; Tiffany M. Frantz, 17, of Saint Clair, 1999 Mercury Mystique; Christopher M. Thomas, 31, of Schuylkill Haven, 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe; Robert L. Antonni, 52, of Schuylkill Haven, 2008 Toyota Scion; and Terry L. Blatt, 42, of Auburn, 2004 Pontiac Vibe.

State police at Lehighton reported investigating a burglary and theft incidents.

The break-in occurred at a residence at 490 Getz Dawl Road, in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. The home was entered through a basement door that was broken. Once inside the criminals proceeded to rummage through various rooms but nothing was apparently taken. The home is owned by Lorenzo John Munroe, 57, of Norwalk, Conn.
