State police at Frackville are investigating a burglary at a store in the Schuylkill Mall, New Castle Township.

Troopers said forcible entry was made to the Black Diamond Antiques store sometime between 9:15 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, and 7:15 a.m. on Saturday.

Once inside the criminals smashed a display case and removed gold and silver coins. No value was listed for the missing items.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at (570) 874-5300.

State police at Frackville are looking for a hit-and-run driver involved in a crash that occurred about 9:25 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, along the 100 block of W. Main St., in Girardville.

Troopers said a 2002 Hyundai Elantra sedan was driven eastbound at a high rate of speed when, for unknown reasons, it swerved out of its lane of travel on the right side. The Elantra struck a parked 1993 Ford van, which was on the shoulder of the road.

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred Saturday, Nov. 24, along SR309, a quarter-mile south of Ben Titus Road, in Rush Township.

State police at Frackville said Tara Shuey, 31, of Tamaqua, was stopped for a traffic violation.

At the stop Shuey was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest.

She was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for a blood test.

The DUI charge is pending the test results.

State police at Schuylkill Haven are seeking the owner of a bicycle that was found recently.

Troopers said a Mongoose bicycle, with four red pegs and red pedals, was found at Lot 74, on Tanglewood Road, in the Pine Brook development, in West Brunswick Township.

The bike was found about 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24,

The owner can claim it by calling the barracks at (570) 593-2000, and providing proper identification.

A Schuylkill County woman is facing a charge of retail theft for an incident that occurred on Tuesday, Nov. 20, about 12:30 p.m.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Dianne Ontiveros, 59, of Pottsville, was observed taking numerous items of jewelry and clothing from Boscov's Department Store, in the Fairlane Village Mall, Norwegian Township, and leaving the store without paying for them. The items had a total value of $610.35, troopers said.

Fallon Hill, 18, of 363 W. Patterson St., Lansford, faces charges from an incident which took place on Oct. 15 at 9:50 p.m. on Route 902. Charges of two counts of robbery, theft by unlawful taking, and harassment were filed by Officer Jason Helmer.

A Carbon County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Carly E. Niedert, 21, of Nesquehoning, was stopped about 12:45 a.m. along Green St., in Tamaqua, for a traffic violation. She was found to be under the influence and submitted to a breath test at the barracks. She was above the legal limit, troopers said.

DUI charge will be filed.

A Carbon County driver was injured when involved in a two vehicle crash in Lehigh County. State police at Fogelsville said the accident occurred about 12:09 p.m. along Interstate 78 westbound in Lower Macugnie Township.

Troopers said Kyle A. Harmison, 25, of Orefield, driving a 2001 Acura MDX, in the left lane, and Dennis C. Hallman, 61, of Lehighton, driving a 2013 Chevrolet Prizm, was in the right lane.

State police at Frackville reported on two crashes probed by troopers in Schuylkill roadways this week.

A one-vehicle crash occurred about 4:45 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 22, along SR54 in Mahanoy Township. Troopers said Anthony G. Yost, 24, of Middleport, was driving a 2001 Kia Optima westbound when he fell asleep. The car went onto the north berm where it struck a metal sign post on the property of Interstate Sunoco.

Yost was not injured but damages to the car were disabling, troopers said. Yost was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

One of two drivers involved in a crash about 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, in West Brunswick Township, Schuylkill County, was cited.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Matthew P. McTiernan, 25, of Frackville, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Aveo northbound on SR443 while Matthew R. Mackintosh, 42, of Staten Island, N.Y., was driving a 1998 Mercury Sable southbound and approaching McTiernan.
